Saying farewell to Gnostic Hymns.
We know this is not the newsletter or Commission Board you're expecting for the month. To many of you, this may be completely unexpected, but it is with a heavy heart that Gnostic Hymns will be officially closed as of March 1st, 2026.
The group has hit many of its highest moments within the past few months, and it is nothing short of a shame to have to see its end come so abruptly despite that. Our reasons for coming to this conclusion rest largely in concerns with moderation, and as members we hope that you can understand the difficulty and commitment behind keeping the group's doors open.
As GH's founder and its mod since the start, I've also written a personal sentiment to the group and the decision to close it here.
What does GH closing mean?
There will not be a February Activity Check. We understand that this news might, to many, make the idea of writing for GH seem without purpose.
The masterlist blog will no longer be accepting reservations or applications. Our roster will not move or change as of March 1st, however the blog and all associated documents will remain public and in tact in memory.
All affiliated blogs within the group are free to do whatever it is that they please with themselves. We encourage those of you who did find your passion in this group to be the writing to continue amongst yourselves, whether on those blogs or otherwise. If your blog remains active, you will no longer be subject to activity checks or any of the usual group's regulation.
The group's Discord server will remain open, with RP related channels made view-only. GH has a community that we do not wish to separate entirely, and many memories have been made within it. For this reason, we will also be turning all old event channels visible once more, so that the archive of what we have done here is public for all who wish to reminisce.
What about this month?
The mod team has agreed that simply closing the group so abruptly, especially during a month with a planned annual event, just isn't right. While we've decided it unlikely that many people would extend themselves to participate in an event after hearing this news, we've also determined that we want to do something to commemorate the group and cherish its community one last time. We have the following things going on throughout the month:
GH's 2YearBook Signing, a public Google Slide meant for you to sign and decorate much like you would a classmate's yearbook. Sign your name, write something silly or sentimental, include a screenshot of your favorite GH memory. Something to look back on. We'll be closing editing access on March 1st, to preserve what is written within.
There are no words with which we can express our gratitude to the community here and every person who has passed through it and left their mark. Gnostic Hymns was a wonderful experience, and we hope that even in its absence you all continue to write and RP and foster the talent and passion that we have seen on our dashboard. We thank you all, from the bottom of our hearts, for this time with us.
GH will remain open to the promotion of other Hoyoverse RP groups. If you know of one, or open one, please let us know so that we can advertise for it.
