Hopefully you've finished the planarcadia storyline because I'm getting inspiration from Fulwish. Imagine if post Scalegorge Waterscape Yanqing (everything goes wrong AU) gets a Masked Fools mask because his life is a hilarious tragedy that stems from simple miscommunication. (It's a bit of a loose idea i'd admit) But imagine if he then makes miscommunication as the core of his jokes as a Masked Fool, where something as simple as wording sends an entire situation spiralling just like him. With the right framing, anything can be comedy. Yanqing's crashout era.

The pain if Yanqing dies to assassins in an empty house where no one can hear him scream and only find him hours later cold and alone surrounded by the swords he used to replace his family. The irony that after everything the former-Quintet members have done effectively nothing to prevent Yanqing from having the same thing that happened to Baiheng. In the end Baiheng died in vain and the last light in their lives have gone out too. Yanqing's dying thoughts being, 'karma has finally caught up to him'. Referencing back to Fulwish where Planarcadia took 15 whole years to kill her where the Herald of Death would've taken seconds, something like that for Yanqing.

Honestly, this whole AU was originally just background story for a TWST AU where I chuck both Yanqing and Yunli into NRC for the lols and have their loved ones go 'Oh, fuck.' but it's definitely meaty enough to stand on its own. Somewhere along the line I also planned for a Yanqing overblot to emanator route because he has the insane idea to try and get the attention of an Aeon to Twisted Wonderland so that some party from their known universe would take notice of the world so that they can go home. Well, more like Yunli can go home, Yanqing was planning to be self-sacrificial.

Also, if jingrenheng are Yanqing's parents, I think that Malleona x Yanqing would be funny purely because at first glance it's like Yanqing inherited a mix of his parents' taste in romantic partners.

OMG FULWISH I LOVED HER STORY SO MUCH THAT AND I LOVE THE TRAGEDY V COMEDY THEMES IN ELATION TOO BC SMTH THAT STUCK WITH ME FROM MY HIGHSCHOOL ENGLISH CLASS WAS:

AND WORDS FAILING YANQING AS HE LAYS DYING TOO WOGIHADSGLKAGW AND YANQING'S FINAL THOUGHTS? ngl at first due to the wording i thought it was referring to jing yuan until i realized it was third person but then i went "wait a minute MORE WORDPLAY MAKING MORE MISUNDERSTANDINGS FOR MORE PAIN ITS PERFECT!" bc honestly its both. it can be both. karma catching up to both yanqing and jing yuan for making the decision to never force themselves to sit down and talk things out like adults

well more jing yuan than yanqing in that case considering yanqing ISN'T an adult and shouldn't have to be

kinda awkward considering leona is 20 and yanqing is like 14 but im assuming in this au yanqing is aged up to like 18-19 to be at or between malleus's mental age (about 18 i think) and leona's age considering he was held back 2 years

bc remember guys: yanqing's species is unconfirmed. he could very well end up being a short-life species

jing yuan ending up conflicted bc hes so so glad that yanqing managed to defy all odds and live a long, healthy life despite the wars hes fought but also heartbroken to see his baby so seemingly quickly withered and on death's bed
