There is a certain hubris white fans and white-minded fans have when it comes to fans calling out racism and microagressions. Because they think there is "no" problem with demeaning and dismissing celebrities of color and their fans, they love to play "stop harrassing the cast and crew" card when what fans do is pointing out microaggressions and unconscious biases, and the defensive and/or avoidant behavior white people do to avoid accountability and sending out people of color to defend them.
But in general, calling out racist and microaggressive behavior don't get fans written by media as crazy / unhinged / toxic, as long as they don't go out of bounds (death threats, stalking, physical abuse, slurs). Usually, there will be no writing about it in media in the first place, because no one wants to have their names associated in writing to racist behavior. Admitting there are fans calling them out risk other people outside of the fandom scrutinizing their behavior and deem it as yes, it is in fact racist.
It is clear from the start that HR team (and its fans following them) has issues in acknowledging queer people outside of white gay men, people of color, and neurodivergent people. It is so obvious that some people choose not to fuck with the show and/or books. These people would see the HR fans calling out the racism and think "yes sounds about right" . So yeah as long as it doesn't go out of bounds, calling out racism is not going to get pointed out (for good and for bad). And usually it doesn't because everyone knows calling out racism will get you subjected to unchecked cruelty.

See the bts photos discourse. Because you're exactly right and we can expect this same script to play out over and over again whenever microaggressions and biases are called out.
The other thing about fans calling out microggressions not being written about is that the overlap between those kind of fans and the kind of fans that stalk, harass, send death threats, etc, isn't much. For example, the kind of fans who were calling out the racism Hudson was facing since December are not the kind of fans who would commit a hate crime against a Black journalist for writing a nuanced take. So while I do agree that no one would want a piece written about how they've been accused of being racist, biased, etc, it's also that the fans doing the calling out are not the ones engaging in the retaliatory unhinged behaviors that do get written about.
And part of the cruelty that comes with calling out racism is being painted as the "true" aggressors. Hence why for months we've seen people try to spin this narrative that Hudson fans are the unhinged crazy ones. That we're the ones that harass the people he works with and that we're the ones that are going to ruin Hudson's career. All this goes back to the beginning of your message where calling out racism is framed as "harassing" people when the real issue is, and has always been, White people refusing to take accountability.
