the thing about ignis is that he’s ultimately a guy in his early twenties with a raging undiagnosed anxiety disorder that he deliberately exacerbates via his caffeine addiction so as to reach new heights of productivity. he masquerades as being the most functional when in fact they’ve all just been inoculated like frogs in boiling water to his insanely codependent relationship with Noctis to the point that it doesn’t even register as weird anymore. and they don’t tell you ANY of this until long after the game is over and you’re watching ignis ask noct to give up, knowing full well that doing so will damn the world to eternal night and unable to even really care
