Baby’s First Acrylics 

Well here’s my first go at acrylic nails.  I’ve got some practicing to do with the nail drill but I don’t think it’s half bad :D

Well actually my mom got me my nails did in acrylic when I went to the farm last year and I’ve been maintaining them at the salon ever since.  Watching.  Learning.  Now I have a drill, and next day off I’ll be acquiring acrylic supplies.  I’m going to figure this out cause it lasts way longer than the builder gel I’ve been working with.  Way stronger.  And I can put my gel on top of it!  So I’ll be back.  I’m in cocoon phase. 

So here is how mirror powder is supposed to look, unlike my last go at it!  I love how sharp the reflection is prior to top coat but it’ll just brush off without the topcoat so c’est la vie right 

How to use your mirror powder wrong--forget to remove the gel layer after setting your black gel and rub it in like that.  It comes out as a cool steely chrome!  I’ve gotten so many compliments on them that I decided not to take it off and start over.  When I fill them I’ll redo the mirror powder properly! xD

Been feeling uninspired lately but luckily christmas time always gets me up and going ^_^

So I just tried out Mirror Powder for the first time!  It’s sharply reflective before the top coat goes on and more mildly so after.  Nails21 said that the effect would not be the same without using their products so there may be something to that.  Either way I’m plum pleased with the result!  Been a long time since I was so pleased. ^_^

Long time, no see! Apart from just not feeling the polish vibe much this year, I've been elbow deep in yarn for the last 3.5 months. It's really hard to put down the yarn for an extended period when I'm inspired.

You can tell I'm out of practice. The cuticle area is so messy. Also, these were done while avoiding watching the horror movie I agreed to watch. For any interested parties, Below is creepy. Hellraiser is most assuredly not, just gross. Ugh, so gross.

These were done for an American football game I went to this past weekend. Team colors are maroon & white. I didn't want to be sporty with this, and I'd been having visions of Japanese chrysanthemums, so I went that direction. Maroon chrysanthemums on a white silver background.

Ah ha I finished the other hand!  I’m gonna do a picture post on how to make the little aqua part soon :)
