Gang, I’m gonna be real: I do not think Jax fictives are uncomfy because Jax is canonically transfem. I think they’re uncomfy because Jax was REVEALED to be canonically transfem after the entirety of canon was out.

Having a different gender than your source is very different from thinking your gender matches source, and then being told that it’s different.

It’s not comparable to source-detached fictives who are opposite of their cis counterparts, imo. Because if you’re source-attached, and it’s suddenly revealed to you that your source gender is not what you thought, I think it’s natural to have a bit of an identity crisis. Especially since you now have to work on detaching, when other fictives are already detached.

I obviously do not condone anyone being transphobic or openly aggressively attacking the notion of a transfem Jax, but going as far as calling other trans people misogynistic for expressing an identity crisis is a lot.

We have transmasc alters. We have transfem alters. I have two transfem partners. I promise you we do not care if Jax is transfem—we were happy. But it’s also okay that our transmascJax had a bit of a crisis over it as well

I’m also really struggling to come to terms with the fact that the fandom now attacking masc jax’s for being misogynistic is the same fandom that called us transphobic slurs and fetishistic terms when we expressed that our Jax was transmasc at the start of the series.
