Hi Tumblr,

Stefán Karl Stefánsson, best known around here for playing Robbie Rotten and singing the hit song We Are Number One, has been fighting cancer since September. As many of you know, several new tumors were recently found on Stefán’s liver, and he is undergoing more tests and treatment this week. This blog was created out of a desire to show support for Stefán and his family during this difficult time, and share our hopes and prayers that he will soon be back to good health.

On Tuesday, May 23, we will be hosting a Meme Bomb for Stefán. It will be a time to create, reflect, and celebrate this incredible person and wish him well. Any way you choose to do this is welcome: art, graphics, music, video, poetry, a message of support, or anything else you can think of. The word ‘meme’ is used loosely here :)

There are two ways to contribute:

1. Post your submission(s) on your own blog and tag it as #memesforstefan (no accent on the a, please, as tumblr’s algorithms are funky and we don’t want posts to get lost)

2. Submit your submission(s) at memesforstefan.tumblr.com/submit

As this blog is moderated, we have a couple of rules:

-Keep your works family friendly and respectful, please. They will be rejected if they aren’t.

-Be kind, and patient: your submission may not immediately show up. If it’s been a really long time (like an hour), send us a message– we’ll check for problems and let you know what’s happened.

-Works will still be accepted after May 23; this repository will stay active for as long as y’all would like!

-Please, please, please do NOT spam Stefán or his family with links to this blog. He needs to focus on his recovery and his family right now, and they all deserve privacy. I promise to you that one of the mods will ensure the link is passed on to him so that he can look at all the submissions when he feels up to it. Please trust us on this– we’ll even post proof once we’ve done it.
