When you ask, I answer.
For all its faults Tumblr has truly ruined all other social media for me because my friends all have Instagram and are all trying to get me on Instagram more but every time I open Instagram there are like fifteen things screaming for my attention and when I get over myself long enough to start scrolling it's like. Where is my chronological dash. Where is the following-only option. Who are these people. Why are there so many videos. Everyone is screaming at me. And then before I know it I'm thirty minutes into scrolling and I haven't seen a single thing that I actually care about. At least on Tumblr when I see stuff I don't care about I know someone I follow has found a new interest.

"Adult book fair" attempt #2
Better this time! The nice weather let them set up outdoors which was A+; I got there early enough that there were still books this time, but alas, nothing that I wanted to buy. I was tempted by a T-shirt but they didn't have my size.
(I ended up wandering around the square and checked out an art gallery for the first time! There were several pieces I liked, if only I had hundreds of $$$ to spend on art)

JOMP Book Photo Challenge - March - 19/03/25 - Pretty Dress On The Cover
Long Live Evil by Sarah Rees Brennan - if someone would offer you the chance to be reincarnated in your favourite fantasy world, would you do it and where would you end up?
I wish Jay Gatsby had one friend who said, "Are you nuts? Move on with your life!" From my new post on The Great Gatsby at macrolit.books IG.
April 2026 TBR stack π
To be honest, I am not really focusing on a TBR this month. I compiled this stack purely based around the books that are grabbing my attention on my shelves at the moment and I've wanted to read for a while, included in other stacks, and just haven't gotten around to yet.
JOMP BPC - 11th April - Book Best Friend
There's a really compelling friendship between two men at the heart of this lovely book - and a lot of crop circles. Pictured with a little clump of forget-me-nots that self-seeded in the garden - a gift from a passing bird, I guess.

A fun bookshop stop. The coolest lady was playing sax right at the corner, and you can smell all the glorious street foods from the market nearby.

i think some of you dont like narratives or stories or characters i think you just like fanfiction tropes
protagonists can and will be sexist, racist, insensitive, cruel, stupid, etc, especially towards the beginning of a story. these are called character flaws and they are a surprise tool that will lead to narrative fulfillment later
And sometimes "narrative fulfillment" doesn't mean "the character overcomes their flaws" or even "the antihero is punished for their flaws"! sometimes it means the narrative says "wow was that fucked up or what? anyway i'm rod sterling"
Unsure how I feel about novels with reimagined backstories for real-life historical individuals/events. But this was an okay read anyway. I suppose I'm making The Scarlet Letter my next read!! Other than reading, I worked on my commonplace this weekend. Also dusted out my shelves because Spring!! π·π
The Scarlet Letter is one of my favourite classics. I hope you enjoy it!!
