kon who has been forced to comply with not only the standards of masculinity, but the specific look and speech of superman specifically. they designed him to replace superman, so he has to be *just* like him. kon goes through the journey of self discovery and moves away not only from superman’s identity, but from the masculine gender identity that was pushed on him from the beginning. kon reinvents themselves, transitioning into a more feminine appearance or just changing their pronouns, then reappears as a hero thats not superboy, not even supergirl maybe, but something unique and entirely her own.
