Gonna be honest, I don’t think this is amazing for Kate’s chances of getting on the roster. Definitely think it’s a possibility, and she certainly deserves it…I just don’t really trust the front office to make the right decision. Maybe they’ll end up waiving Latson or Cannon for her (and they should), but I guess I’ll believe it when I see it.

biggest pieces of evidence for me:

-initially it was they were always together last year. Anything valks related you always saw them with each other

-the looks they gave each other (esp the June 1st presser)….not looks I would just give to a friend

-pretty much all their close friends and family following each other when they hadn’t even known each other year (including both moms)

-Kate’s ex unfollowing Veronica very early on (while still following other teammates of Kate)

-unrivaled is probably where it was the most obvious: wearing each others clothes, at all of each other’s games, sitting on each other’s bench for 1v1, arriving at the after party together. Also there was video on the broadcast of V putting her arms around Kate

on top of all of that, they have had plenty of opportunity to deny it if it wasn’t true and no one has

There's lots of little bits of evidence like their moms following each of them. And yes that could mean they are best friends but V's mom doesn't follow some of her actual best friends from home and both girls are close to kaitlyn chen but lots of their families aren't following her.

one of the big clues for me is that CC follows V. She doesn't follow someone just because they are friends with kate unless she knows them well too. Same with gabbie and jada too and each other's other best friends who aren't following kaitlyn either.

Then there's how formal they are in their IG comments. Both of them will comment flirty things on their other friends pages but with each other they are so boring and formal.

scroll through the veronikate tags and watch the studbudz stream at unrivaled. Court and T are even making comments about 'y'all know what's going on' when they see them and the looks they give each other are so obvious.

Last biggest piece for me is that they aren't dating other people. Kate seems to be allergic to being single but she hasn't stepped out with anyone else at all.

I'm sure I've missed a lot of stuff but those are the big ones for me. But yeah they haven't officially confirmed they are dating and probably won't seeing as people cannot be chill about w couples

hiii welcome to the veronikate community! 🥰 sooo they've never officially confirmed they're together, but there is a mountain of evidence out there that basically makes it pretty darn clear they're in a relationship. look at the #veronikate tag on Tumblr, you'll see a lot there!

It's been obvious since, like Kate's second game that she deserves a roster spot. Even though the Sparks are dysfunctional, I don't think they're that blind. Most teams would've already cut someone, brought Kate onto the active roster, and used the open DP spot on whoever got waived. And that's why I don't think the plan was ever to waive one of the rookies or second-year players (Latson, Feagin, or Park), because if that was the move, they would've done it already. It would've kept the roster together, rewarded Kate, and given that younger player a chance to stay with the team in a DP spot. I also don't think they necessarily care about filling the DP spot with someone who hasn't been in their system or with the team since the season started.

Instead, I think they've known from the beginning that Cannon is the odd one out. Since Cannon can't go into a DP spot, the Sparks are just burning through Kate's 12 DP games while keeping Cannon on the roster. Then, once Kate hits the limit, they waive Cannon and give Kate her spot. This has allowed them to basically carry 13 players at no extra cost. And honestly, it might even be a courtesy to Cannon....letting her stay on the roster a little longer and collect a few more game checks before moving on. Am I crazy, or does this actually make some sense?

even the announcers yesterday talked about how kate has had so much energy defensively but it’s led to her fouling a lot- which is true. I think because the sparks are such a bad defensive team kate feels the need to do too much and then overcorrects. Like last night where she was running out to guard bonner and fouled her. But I’m sure nobody knows that more than her. It’s interesting that her best defensive game was against Toronto and that’s where she played the most minutes. She was really able to settle into the game and get into a defensive flow. She’s just unfortunately going to have to learn how to settle faster if she’s playing fewer minutes- and she’s not the worst offender on defense for the sparks by far so I’m not worried

ok but this is true!! Its crazy to think its only been that long from being waived to being the 7/8th player off a bench!! 🔥 got to put it in perspective for sure!! Its easy to look in hindsight at what could of been but girlie is shooting 42% from 3 and playing great defense and the fans, media and her team mates are all yelling to give her a full contract so I say she made the right call

Yeah I would genuinely love to know where anon thinks Kate should have gone? The reality is that she wasn't picked up on waivers- VERY few players who get cut after rosters are finalized are. There are excellent players- Sutton, Jones, Bibby, McDonald- not on rosters right now. She was offered DPs and took the one that she felt was the best for her, no doubt with a lot of input from people like her agent and manager who know way more than we do. She is playing already more than half the Sparks bench- that's not nothing. Most DPs haven't seen the floor at all, and even some who have been upgraded have barely played. I saw a stat the other days that Kate and one of the Lynx's DPs have seen the most minutes of any DP. Even some players on full contracts on other teams haven't seen the floor. This is the W, there are SO many great players. Playing time is hard to come by whoever you are. Aaliyah Nye is a champion and excellent shooter and she has just been collecting DNPs for Atlanta, and I'm sure that's not because of her, it's just that Atlanta is an absolutely stacked team. Kate isn't a star, she isn't going to just walk onto any team and be handed 15 minutes a game no matter who the team is. I know it's frustrating watching LA not upgrade her but at the end of the day she is playing, she is being trusted, she is being impactful and she has people like KP saying she should be upgraded. I think we're forgetting that she was cut only just over a month ago. She's come so far in such a short a space of time. This time last month we didn't even know if she would even be playing in the W this season! We need to take the wins and acknowledge that things take time. She's doing fine.

Nakase was all love and compliments with Kate till she got cut to put two players that basically didn't play all of last season in the roster, I don't put my hand on the fire for those coaches and organizations. Kate's situation is very strange the minutes she's given are awfully low for what she has produced in the past and for the Sparks. Kate needs a real role and a real team, Sparks aren't that. Kate made the worse choice possible and is impossible to not see that

lmaoooo plz. Where would you prefer she went instead? I can be baffled by the Sparks' choices over the past couple of weeks AND also recognize this is by far the best place for Kate to not only get on a roster, but also get good playing time alongside solid vets. Plenty of great players are sitting at home right now without a team.
