Latin dance is a great way to develop new social relationships. In Latin America, Salsa dancing is a massive part of the culture and its social life. Within an established class setting, if the group of students are always the same, a natural understanding develops over time.

When the beginner's salsa steps are performed correctly, salsa can be a very beautiful dance to admire. Salsa classes will teach you the correct body posture to use, as your instructor will instruct you on how to align your body when dancing.

Salsa focuses on exercising all major muscle groups. The glutes, hamstrings, quadriceps, calves and core will be exercised relatively aggressively in order to perform the various step sequences. The upper body and arms must maintain specific positions, so they will receive a #workout as well, albeit to a lesser degree.
