So I’ve been occasionally reblogging things to this blog for the past 3 years, but never actually posting about my derby life! Just scrolling down a few posts, I’m in season 1 again.. except I’m not, I’m in season 4 of skating for RAD.

The love for this sport hasn’t faltered in my 3 year blogging hiatus. Last November I went to champs in Nashville and watched the greatest derby I’ve ever seen in my life. Even shared Reese’s cups with Raw Heidi and Kamikaze Kitten of London Brawling (not making this up, they sat next to me during the Rose City v. Gotham bout)

My league has also grown sooooooo much in this time. Only 6 of our original skaters are on the team, me included. Not to say our league isn’t bombtastic now, I love these girls to death and we’re playing harder and better than season 1 me could imagine. We’ve won our past 2 bouts with a 100+ point lead, and have created a sisterhood with soooo many other teams. Also our adult team merged with the Dixie Derby Girls, and soon we’re hoping to completely rebrand ourselves (I’m getting tired of green anyway)

We have a bout coming up this weekend against the Mad Divas. The handful of us who have experienced playing against those girls are reallyyyyy feeling the tension now. The Mad Divas is a good team, and has kicked our tail multiple times during our first and second season. We’re really having to reel it in and realize that we are an entirely different team now with entirely different strengths and weaknesses (nothing they will see coming.)
