Sorted out the tailoring for my lehenga (Indian dress) today for my friends wedding which is in 3.5 weeks. I left it VERY late.
I went with my beautican/friend. So glad she came with me. They were really nice in the shop. The main tailor came down to measure me and I bought the extra material and some lace from the wholesaler shop next door. They were surprised it didn't come with extra material when I bought it and said it's silly the shop I bought it from wouldn't tailor it just because it was on sale.
It was £99 for tailoring + extra material/lace. It's expensive but i'm okay with that as dress was only £99 and they needed to make the top and bottom fit plus make the top longer as I'm tall. So overall spend with dress is £198 which is still cheaper than buying a dress full price. This dress was either £399 or £499 before sale.
I'm booked to collect it in 2 weeks time which is perfect timing. They said I can try it on when I collect and any last minute tailoring can be done same day or next day. They showed that they cares as they were saying I can style it a certain way to hide the new material and asking about length as my arms will be up when I'm dancing. I can see why my friend is repeat customer there.
Just collected my Lehenga and it's perfect!!!!
