Anyone else just completely bummed out that AI is just EVERYWHERE and has already ruined everything and nobody cares? Like, AI “art” harms real artist and steals from preexisting art but the general audience just doesn’t care?

“Wow, I can make new stupid emojis!”or “My face looks like a cartoon!” When you could just hire someone to do that for you and it’ll look 100% better than that AI bullshit! I get it’s more about convenience but it’s still no excuse.

Remember around 2022 when everyone was using that weird AI feature to turn themselves into a superhero or princess or whatever. “Wow there go my friends using ai to make themselves superheroes and I would’ve done it for free” :(

It also scares me because people won’t TRY anymore! Not to sound like a boomer, but is the new generation of weebs even going to be impressed with doodling/coloring if a computer could do it for them? Like are they not gonna be impressed with the art kid doodling their Pokemon designs, if they can just slap some AI crap on a trifold poster board? I always cringe looking at my old art but apart of the fun was learning those fundamentals and exploring designs to get the image in my head out on paper! Being cringe and bad was apart of the process! That’s the human experience of trying over and over to be better!

I feel like schools should just give up and go back to pencil and paper or something! Cause we cannot let these babies grow up using ChatGPT/AI for everything.

I love artist who draw certain characters from different fandoms and whatnot. Especially when they’ve basically turned those characters into their OCs. I think I have a hard time drawing characters from different fandoms because I usually prefer drawing black people/people of color. And I can’t really think of any modern shows with characters of a diverse background. The closest I can think of is The Owl House and Moongirl. I really enjoyed drawing Tom X Mabel forever ago but was kinda disappointed I couldn’t make the characters black lol 😂. Someone would say “why don’t you draw black characters then?😒”and I think I don’t really relate to a lot of black characters on tv. I think characters like Valerie Grey are badass as hell but I don’t really relate to her as much as characters like Luz, Anne, Star, or Mabel. Awkward, nerdy, weirdos lol. Growing up I always felt like an outsider, like I never felt understood with my interests and personality especially with my family. I love characters like Penny Proud, Monique, Numbah 5, Bumblebee, etc… I always looked up to those characters, like is a big sister sense, but never saw myself in those characters.

All this to say I prefer drawing OCs
