Do you ever feel like a human answer key? Like, popular people I don't know at all will come up to me and ask me something, and then they start talking to me more, but the second I don't know the answer to one of their questions they never talk to me again, or wait a month or two and start over. It's so demoralizing--I just want to be treated like a human.

i think what anon means is that since giftedness is so often connected to intelligence, do you think special ed kids are forever dumb since you believe gifted kids are forever smart

“ i am a firm believer that giftedness doesn’t go away when you get older” so does that mean special ed kids are lost causes for not having that “gifted”ness in the first place?

I feel like the opposite of everyone here. I'm a wizard at math but alright at Language Arts. My teacher said I needed to develop more critical thinking.

Okay were any other Gifted Child™s here forced to go to school when they were sick, or told if they were too sick to ________ then they're too sick to _____?

i was recognized as gifted in science and social studies, but look at me now!! my lowest grades are in those classes and everything’s going to shit!!! the staff keep yelling at everyone for flunking these classes while the teachers don’t teach!!! they all just put on videos of wha we’re supposed to be learning and expect us to take in what the monotone voice in the video was explaining without question!!!! education is broken

I don’t want to be in science courses and math anymore!!!! The only thing I want to do and enjoy is music but because I’m “gifted” I’m forced to go into science and math!!! Just because I’m “gifted” doesn’t mean i have to be in a “smart” STEM field!

Hey I don’t know if this is okay to ask you, but do you think you could lose your giftedness in a way? The last two years of my life I’ve been depressed, and chronically ill. I can’t do much more than my study and sleep for the remainder of the time. I’m forced to neglect my numerous passions and my talents, because I don’t have the energy to deal with it. I’ve seen numerous therapists, tried many things, but I can’t seem to do it anymore. People say I’m wasting my talent. Can that be true?

I have super low grades in math and it’s the only class bringing me down but I KNOW if I could take a break from it my other grades would improve but noOOO I’m ‘gifted’ and ‘should know this’ even though I’m a seventh grader taking a freshman level class - a tired kiddo
