THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT. If any of you people ever have kids and have genetic mental disorders, maybe tell them about it? Because there’s a chance that the kid will get it too. ‘Oh but I’m sure they’ll tell me if they feel bad’ two things. First of all if they’ve never known a life without it they won’t necessarily know that they are feeling bad, so they won’t tell you that anything’s wrong. Second, once they realize, when they’re older, most tweens tend to start closing their parents off. There’s a reason that doctors always make kids start filling out their own mental health forms at the tween years, it’s because there’s a decent chance that your little honest baby isn’t going to tell you that they’re feeling bad when they’re already in a stage that involves pulling away from their parents. Especially if you never fostered a real environment for mental health. Because kids will overhear you talking about it at sometime, and they will reach the conclusion that they shouldn’t talk about mental health with you. So tell kids that there’s a chance that they might feel worse than the average human because of genetics, but there’s medicine that can make it better. And if they ever think they feel that way, to tell you and you won’t be mad or judge.
