The long awaited Dark Ages update is finally here.

You can now create Dark Ages characters with Roads, ancestry and medieval gears. Storytellers can also build dark ages chronicles with courts, titles, factions, coteries, oaths and a NEW Battles section for larger conflicts.

Thanks to our Patreon supporters, we have also started adding native image uploads. Chronicle cover images can now be uploaded directly, and we will gradually replace more URL-based image fields across GhoulApp.

We would especially love to hear from the V20 Dark Ages players and sts here. Try the update and let us know what works, what is missing and what you would like us to improve next!

Ghouls, Revenants, and Mortals are now fully supported across character creation, sheets, chronicles, PDF exports, and the Community Hub.

We also added:

• Character and NPC Facades • An interactive in-world Timeline • Synced live-session music and community playlists • 3D maps, projector mode, and KML/GeoJSON imports • Touchstones and Convictions for V5 • Improved Storyteller visibility and player preview tools • Optional 3D dice • Expanded V20 blood sorcery, morality paths, and elder rules • New sheet pages, themes, and display modes • Major upgrades to the Wiki, XP system, NPC tools, and character pools

We also launched the MageApp Closed Beta, our new platform for creating and managing Mage: The Ascension character sheets.

The beta is open to Patreon members and selected experienced Mage players. To apply, open a ticket in our Discord and send us the email address you would like to use for MageApp.

Hey everyone! We just rolled out an update for GhoulApp that brings full character creation for Ghouls, Revenants, and Mortals.

The sheets now automatically adapt to your chosen character type, dropping Kindred-specific mechanics like Hunger and Generation, and replacing them with necessary trackers like Domitor bonds or Revenant Families. Whether you want to run them as fully playable characters or easily import them as NPCs, they are completely integrated into the Chronicle system for your table.

Alongside the new character types, we are introducing the "Facade" system, which lets you actively disguise your character sheet. You can disguise everything from your Clan and Generation down to your disciplines and stats; the rest of the coterie will only see the mask you've created while playing a chronicle, while you and your Storyteller always see the real data underneath.

Storytellers can also use this to hide NPC identities, clans, sect etc. And you have full control in the settings to toggle the entire disguise system on or off for your game. We added Ghoul character creator to our website

People usually think Dark Ages is just about swords and combat, while Modern Nights is the actual political game with corporations and boardrooms.

The author argues it's completely the opposite.

In modern games infrastructure protects you. You can buy influence and hide behind companies or use systems without ever looking a mortal in the eye. If things go bad you can just move.

In the Dark Ages you don't have that. There are no banks or bureaucrats. Everything depends on loyalty and promises.

If you piss off the local Bishop (who controls the only literate people around) or the Guildmaster (who controls the food supply) you can't just fix it. You face immediate, physical consequences. One broken promise can ruin your entire domain because you have no system to hide behind. It makes the politics way more personal and dangerous.
