what i’m gonna say may be a hot take (although it shouldn’t be), but i’m highkey very over all of the willie hate!!! anyways, willie and luke are very similar characters. i feel like we’ve been knew, but they are not treated the same. what i love about willex and juke is that they mirror each other, willie and luke and julie and alex. because of this, willie and luke have a lot of similar traits!!! they both have their one passion in life (skateboarding and music), they’re both head over heels in love and they love hard, they would do ANYTHING for the ones they love, they live life on the edge a bit, they have a strained relationship with the “parental” figure in their life (lowkey we can’t really call caleb that, but for sake of comparison purposes i am), and they have both made mistakes.

willie antis like to get so mad about the stamp and think that willie knew, when willie had NO IDEA about the stamp. they blame him and use it as a reason to hate on him or not ship willex, but at the same time they defend the white boy for missing julie’s school dance when luke KNEW about that. a lot of people say that it was a time warp situation and the guys forgot, but it still doesn’t excuse the fact that they went to the hgc when they knew they had a gig later. these same people also get mad at julie for standing up to them when she had every right to, which is also not okay. if you’re going to defend the guys in that situation, then you can at least acknowledge that julie had a right to be mad. long story short, people blame willie for the stamp but do not blame luke for missing julie’s dance, then proceed to blame that on julie. willie and julie didn’t do anything wrong and the guys did, yet who gets blamed?

now you may say “well that doesn’t mean everyone that thinks that is racist” or “some people are willie antis and do not defend the guys for that” and maybe you’re right (although it looks a lot like racism to me). but then i offer you the question of what about the people who are willie antis and also get mad at flynn for wanting to egg julie’s house? or get mad and call julie a bad friend for lying to flynn? the people that want to recast madison so “juke can kiss” AND are willie antis? coming up with excuses to hate on 3 people of color who are complete angels among us and have done nothing wrong? that is racism.
