Another spirit house for sale! This one harkens back to fairytale taverns and meeting places for those looking for adventure, be it whimsical or dark, preferably a mix of both. All furniture is hand made, and the food is sculpted by hand too!

My latest spirit house creation!

This is more of an open concept version of what a Spirit House can be. Created by crafting a landscape on and around a red fox skull (nature cleaned and ethically obtained) and installing led lights inside the cranial and nasal cavities to make a damn cool spooky nightlight.

There’s a humble little forgotten graveyard on the hill overlooked by a bright and blooming tree. If you find yourself looking down towards the base of the skull you’ll find that I’ve treated it with a gloss to give a watery, moist cave-like effect.

The smallest spirit house I’ve made so far! Sort of has an Alice in Wonderland vibe with the giant overgrown plants and the tea set.

All of these guys are for sale by the way- get your spooky friends a room of their own or as a small shrine for any diety of your choice that whispers in your ear and says ‘I want that’.

Second Spirit House completed!

This one was more of an undertaking (graveyard jokes haha) than the last one, mostly because of the three different levels!

The bottom most level features a tiny forgotten gravesite with a couple coffins, an abandoned tombstone cross, and real small animal bones! (Ethically obtained via owl pellets).

Second level has a small room with a hardwood floor and a rug surrounded by a series of candles… some sort of ritual maybe? Wonder how it went…

Up the rickety rotting staircase is a tiny third floor where a crystal ball awaits seated on a cloth covered table.

All pieces of furniture are hand made and not purchased! So everything here except for the obvious is built completely by hand and painted/stained.

He is that content, full feeling of having just enjoyed a wonderful meal.

He is the boisterous laugh shared between friends after a toast and much clinking of glasses.

He is that moment before the dawn rises, the whispered power of the world transitioning from dark to light.

He is the quiet confidence of a wrong that has been righted, the hushed healing of a victim vindicated.

He’s the sound of the waves creating and falling.

Manannán Mac Lir is the hug of humidity, stifling, suffocating, and yet simultaneously comforting. You don’t feel “home” without it.

Flidais is the hum of cicadas on a warm summer night.

She’s a swamp: earth, decay, and yet teeming with life.

She’s the way butter on hot bread melts on your tongue.

She’s the way you cry so hard you feel like you’re going to break, and you can’t breathe. Yet eventually it stops, and you pull yourself back together.

Brighid is the way your bed feels exactly like home, and even expensive hotel beds with mattresses way more spendy than yours can’t quite compare, because it’s home.

Herne is that snap of cold you can feel first thing in the morning, even if the day is going to be a million degrees.

He’s the way you can keep your face straight, even when you want to fall apart.

He’s letting your hair out of a ponytail or bun at the end of the day and shaking it free.

 He is the gentle transition of waking hours into midnight dreams, of life drawing silent and still, until the sun rises again. 

He’s the burning in your lungs as you swim to the surface of a cold lake on a hot summer’s day. It makes the gasp of air when you surface all the more sweeter. The pounding of your heart reminds you that while the moment may pass, it happened, and nothing in this universe or beyond can change that. And even when you’re gone, maybe just someplace else, maybe from this world, someone else is experiencing that same wonderful feeling. Osiris lives in echoes of the human experience. 

Osiris is comfortable, contemplating silence but he’s also the ballooning feeling in your chest of pure exhilaration. He’s the old wizened wrinkles around the eyes of our elders and that glint of endless possibility that you catch in the gaze of a young child. 

He looks back at me through the mirror on days when I can hardly bring myself to get out of bed. Like me, he is also the betrayed. Once a victim to trauma that changed us deep within. Separated and lost and slowly repaired by our loved ones until we emerged both stronger and yet more vulnerable than before. He’s the determination of pushing forward even at our lowest because we’ve survived worse.
