I think we would all do better to treat the internet like a busy public plaza, where of course there's a certain level of social etiquette expected, but you do not own the space and cannot control the people within it. Understanding how you can alter the things within your control to make your experience better, and removing yourself when neccessary, is sometimes the best and often the only thing you can do.
there’s got to be at least one trans woman named eve out there whose deadname is adam. and she’s the funniest person to ever grace this earth with her presence.
I feel so appreciated :3
WE FOUND HER!!!!!!!!!!!!

happy pride month
ya know i try to be like a responsible adult, and be kind to people younger than me. but as i grow older i find that i really think fandom stagnates your critical thinking abilities. i’m not sure if it’s always been this way because i remember when i was younger and stupider, i felt that fandom was a good place to discuss and dissect media and that it gave me good insight to the shows i was watching/comics i read. now i feel like looking at any fan communities is absolute garbage.... it’s always about shipping, it’s always about angst. discussion is without nuance and wholly centered around who was ‘right’ in a given situation.
oh god and another thing, i see people who participate in fandoms of media who’s source material they have never even engaged in. like pure indulgence without ever having to think critically or analytically. and i mean never, ever, in anyway (watching/playing/reading/listening) engaged in the source. they have not even watched a play through of it if it’s a video game they just hop online and look at a remixed version of the same shit they always look at. i’m not going to be nice about this one you are legitimately not doing your brain or critical thinking skills a favor.
they do what
Sure, detransition is real. The vast majority of people who detransition do so because of trans antagonism, not because they were pressured into transitioning in the first place. Most of the detransitioners I know are fully supportive of the trans community. Many of them even plan on transitioning again later in life.
In 1934-1936, trans brothers Mark and David Ferrow of Yarmouth, UK, both transitioned at age 13 with full parental support. Mark medically transitioned first in 1939 at 17 and his brother soon followed. “Though we have been girls, we have both felt men at heart,” Mark told a reporter. Their stories show that trans youth can grow up to be happy, celebrated adults.
David lived in their hometown of Great Yarmouth, UK for the rest of his life. He became a local icon. At 15, he started selling books. He later ran a wildly successful bookshop until death in 2006, age 81, 68 years after transitioning. He had a daughter, Jan, who supported his work. The whole town adored him. Why, yes, that is a mug of his face. Mark, always passionate about art, joined the Kirby Muxlue Players troupe as a writer and traveled throughout the UK. His David Gower painting is currently in the UK’s National Portrait Gallery! His art still hangs in collections all over the country - although it’s almost never recognized as being by a trans artist. Mark married Edna Hall in 1942 and died in 1991, age 68, in Leicester. It’s important to mention that it’s unclear if both men are intersex despite the reports. At the time, it was customary for non-intersex trans people to claim intersex conditions in order to access care (e.g. Roberta Cowell). Regardless if they were trans or intersex and trans, I would hate their underreported stories to be forgotten!
We NEED to put sex and magic back on the pride flag right now
I'm fed up of people being like yea we need magic but not the sex one, sex positivity is vital to the lgbtq+ community it is not invalidating to asexual people to celebrate gay sex as something that is positive and beautiful and natural. We should be celebrating all the aspects of our community and this can include both asexuals and sex positivity

hey google what's going on over here
I’ve already known this but the more i interact with lgbt ppl irl, especially older ones, i realize no one gives a fuck if you call yourself a stud or butch and occasionally wear things that would be seen as fem. Literally no one, some older lgbt ppl identify as both butch/stud and fem/me and its normal. There’s no “you can’t call yourself that bc you wore blush that one time ‼” bc these labels are more than what you wear. That makes me really happy and I’ve gained a greater understanding of our culture.
