either the stress of his life has stopped his heats OR, and this is my preference, taka takes heat blockers for decades against recommendation either in self harm or because he can't take the stress of having a heat on top of everything else.
cut to the present, now that he's safe and surrounded by the warmth of john, johnny, and kenshi, he finally stops taking blockers— maybe because kenshi found them and immediately picked at taka about how they're not for long-term use (like some sorts of birth control) and how taking them for so long is damaging to his body.
taka experiencing the heat of all heats, just absolutely feral, horny beyond relief, struggling to build a nest before john takes it upon himself to help, creating the most comfortable place for taka to settle during his heat, and then, of course, helping him through it.
johnny also gets a turn and he is PATHETIC about wanting to knot taka, just begging and begging for it, just wanting to make taka feel good and fill him up, it'll be so warm and comfortable, please, just let him, taka?
yesssss... taka having his first heat in YEARSSSSS and devolving quite quickly into feral and desperate, so lost to his instincts and to fever that he can barely make a nest right until john comes to help... taka on suppressants/blockers for so long bc he just couldnt handle experiencing a heat on his own for so many years after suchin passed... him not trusting his body or his instincts to not make him feel sad and empty and awful during a heat now that his first bonded partner is gone....
beta john laying in taka's nest and just being a warm body for taka to have and nest with, john coaxing taka into listening to his instincts, asking taka to scent him and focus on his nest, distracting him until johnny gets home....
and then johnny-- johnny oh so pathetic and desperate, smells taka in his heat and comes in all soft and sweet, his ruts just making him so desperate and whiny already that feeling his body try to catch up to taka's intense heat so quickly that he cant help but beg and whine and promise taka everything the moment he invites taka into his nest, so so desperate to knot him... taka not having been knotted since suchin, so unsure and fearful but also so so incredibly empty and desperate to be full... johnny promising taka whatever he wants and taka getting a little aggressive, demanding that johnny knot him the moment he can smell johnny's rut start to kick up.... punching them omg
i also love kenshi finding taka's blockers and immediately going up to him and being like "you've taken a break Right. you've been using these responsibly RIGHT." and taka is just sitting there sweating, scent faint and pushing too old to have a heat, giving kenshi a faux smile and going "haha . of course..." (lying) like they're so sweet to each other sigh sigh
