Because HEAR ME OUT but like every damn ship with that man is just pure perfection. Rosekiller? They're absolutely perfect, meant to be, crazy together, just insane and they complement each other so well. Bartylus? YES omg they will always be canon to me even just as exes but they would be a perfect first relationship to each other they're just so UGH. Sunkiller? SIGN ME TF UP. I don't care if it's romantically or just them being best friends but I could DIE for this duo y'all don't understand how much potential they have together (bonus if it's bpd james and bpd and/or bipolar barty). Bartylily? I'M GOING INSANE FOR THEM. I cannot understand how someone ever thought of this but they had A VISION like I swear they're so so SO good and if you're a multishipper I'm BEGGING you to look into bartylily. Also academic rivals bartylily is literally one of the best things in this universe. Moonkiller? Once again, whether it's romantically or platonically they're SO GOOD like I don't even know how to explain it but they would just work so well together. Bitchkiller? YES YES YES. The tension, the hate and love at the same time like YES.
And even in duos that are only platonic (in my eyes) he's just so good with everyone. Dorcas and Barty? They're OBVIOUSLY besties like no one could convince me otherwise I love them sm. Pandora and Barty? Oh gosh the duo is INSANE. They match each other's freak so well like they're genuinely a menace to society together. Marlene and Barty? Already made a whole post about them but YES they're amazing like their friendship is so peak they're both such losers together. Mary and Barty? Girl the AMOUNT of gossip these two actually share it's like insane, they know EVERYTHING that's going on in Hogwarts and they do know who slept with who, who cheated on who with who and who broke up and why. And finally Peter and Barty? I can't even explain it but they have so much potential as a duo like they would be a MENACE and bring Mary and make them a trio and you have all the gossip that ever existed in the history of humanity.
I may be a bit too insane about this man but I just can't get over the fact that he's just perfect with everyone like all the dynamics are genuinely priceless

okay, but. imo sirius would not have walked onto the hogwarts express, picked out james potter, and said 'oh good, my parents will hate you.' he's eleven, and he hasn't been sorted into gryffindor yet - he's still very much in his parents' favor at this stage. baby sirius wants to do good and impress them; he's so sheltered that he's never even met someone who didn't uphold their beliefs. james is the first. i really think that being sorted into gryffindor broke baby sirius' heart, because he knows even then that it creates an irreversible divide between him and his mother. he befriends james not out of spite, but because he's james - he's nice, he's welcoming, and he's a kid. carelessly, james kicks his feet up on the bench, eats his food with his fingers, and lets his shirt go untucked. james is sirius' first taste of freedom, his first realisation that he can do things he isn't really supposed to, and still turn out a good person.
walburga comes to despise james potter not just because of his family's reputation, but because of the noticeable effect he has on sirius. it's like someone has taken her son and replaced him with a cheap copy: sirius burps at the dinner table, refuses to dress properly, and has started using foul language. worst of all, he writes to james. he talks of missing james. walburga has been desperate to get sirius back into her arms from the moment he left, because sirius is walburga's entire life, and it's becoming clear that sirius is destined for more. he's learning there is a life for him outside the walls of their house. sirius' existence is the culmination of her life purpose, and she is no longer her favourite person. she hates him for this.
the heartbreaking thing is sirius genuinely doesn't know why. he isn't trying to upset his mother, but he has to make friends, right? the slytherins won't talk to him, his cousins have shunned him, and he spends a lot of time around james. for a little while, he thought the gryffindor thing wouldn't be that big of a deal. parents are supposed to love their children regardless, right? this is where sirius begins to hate his mother, in turn: her love appears to be conditional. he seeks it from others, obsessively, to spite her.

Starting with the og, Rosekiller
He dresses this way bc I feel like his style would compliment Evan's but would also be darker
He'd be laid back and grungey because he's just trying to not be put together but there's no message in it, he's just this to be like this
(and to sneak a little of a hc I heard from Mavis I'm pretty sure, he emulates Evan bc Evan feels way too human while Barty doesn't feel human at all and he wants that)
Now for Bartylily
I feel like he'd be a little more alt and punk when it comes to Lily, because 1. out of spite and wanting to be her total opposite and 2. she stands for something, so he's gotta seem like he does too (it helps that the whole thing pisses off his father too)(he only cares about it bc it impresses Lily to have his own set of values)
Next issssss sunkiller
I feel like with James, Barty is his complete opposite bc Barty wants to piss James off
he likes being dirty and messy and disgusting and so not put together because James is the opposite (He's probably on a sports team, completely healthy, popular and personable)
Now it's time for Bartylus
This is where Barty leans more towards being what someone wants him to be rather than the opposite, bc with Regulus, Barty wants him to keep him around so so so bad, and if he's gone too far off the path, he knows Regulus will get tired of him/not associate with him
So he tries to match Regulus' class in a way, is a little more put together even though it's not exactly fully elegant or aristocratic (in the way regulus would be)
he covers up more, wears more blazers and button ups, dress shoes, doesn't wear t shirts as often but it he does, they're probably polos

He matches Sirius' vibe to a T, just instead of leather jackets and tighter pants, it's baggy pants and jean jackets (he's stolen a leather jacket from Sirius though) they're both so similar in their own ways and they feed off of each other like parasites until you don't know where one starts and the the other ends
And last but not least, grimfuture 🫶🫶 my babies
Okay so for like them, he'd lean into a more goblin core sorta aesthetic, more greens and greys, or desaturated dark colors, rather than just black for the most part
this ship is the most color you'd ever see Barty in imo, but I also think part of this is because he does steal her clothes out of curiosity, and probably would be wearing some of her skirts as well
He doesn't go full on similar to her, but he gets somewhat close, he's mainly wearing green or black/dark grey

happy pride month to those in the closet. to those who went back into the closet. to those who have unsupportive families, friends and relationships. those who were bullied and harassed because of their identity. those who were killed because of who they truly were and loved.
Evan didn't consider himself the jealous type. Of course he'd throw an eyeroll here and there whenever he felt uncomfortable or possessive, but never really jealous.
Take for example his childhood. All eyes were usually on Pandora. Sweet Pandora, beautiful Pandora, smart Pandora. Praise, praise, seasoned with compliments. It annoyed Evan more than it made him jealous, because why would he want so much attention on him? He was fine with his own results, he was okay with his work, he didn't want aunts he didn't know he had and awkward grandparents telling him they're proud.
He didn't need reassurance.
Until now.
Barty and Lily had started hanging out lately and it was driving Evan crazy. Barty would not shut up, about how lily was getting what he always meant to say like he was in his head. That was Evan. That was Evan's skill. Not some- girl's that Barty decided he was worth his time and attention. Because Barty rarely thought of people as worthy enough to be his friends but with this young lady, he was more than eager to hang out.
It made Evan boil in unease and discomfort. Like he needed the confirmation that he was still Barty's number 1. His person.
And it didn't help that Barty had just walked in, wearing a freaking red jumper.
It took one second for Evan to notice and maybe five for Regulus who had to do a double take.
Barty didn't seem to notice as he walked deeper into his side of the dorm, looking under his blankets probably in search for some sock or who knows what.
"Barty," came out Regulus' voice, both amused and with feign concern as he observed his friend. Evan was left speechless, both from surprise and... fury, unsurprisingly.
"Reginald," answered Barty, making Regulus roll his eyes at the ridiculousness of the sight along with the words.
"What the hell are you wearing?"
Barty's eyes turned to Evan, looking amused at his sharp tone. The bastard, had the audacity to enjoy this while Evan wanted to grab his wand and make the jumper more red. In flames, preferably, or blood. Both worked
"Just Lily's jumper. Mine got dirty with mud, I'm looking for another one", he said as he took his attention back on his stuff, showing them lazily the dirty hoodie as evidence of his words.
"Mud? Mud from where?" Regulus let out a huff at Evan's questions, plopping back down on his bed to enjoy the show. Finally, some originality in this rom com. He should thank Lily honestly....
"We were collecting bugs for a project at potions. I needed some help"
Barty Crouch Jr. Needing help with work. It made Evan scowl at how ridiculous that was. Usually, Barty hated help, especially with homework. He always wanted to prove himself, to prove that he was fine without assistance and completely capable of doing anything, just because he was smart.
But no. He had gone out of his way to ask Lily for help. How convenient.
"I had some leftover. You could have just asked.", Evan said, voice tight but he was pretty confident he disguised well. What annoyed him most was that Barty had to know that. Evan's stock, bugs, plants, bones, was not a secret from Barty. He even asked for tours every once in a while to see what Evan had added to his collection.
"Good for you, Rosie.", Barty mumbled, not even looking up, as he found what he needed through his stuff.
Oh hell no.
"You accepted wearing a Gryffindor sweater. What happened to "Gryffindors are embarrassing " and all that stuff?"
"Well, generalizing is bad, isn't it?", Barty replied with a small smirk, throwing a playful wink at Regulus' direction, who flipped him off for reasons unknown to Evan.
"How did you end up with it anyway, did she just carry a spare sweater with her? Did you enter the Gryffindor dorm. That's against the rules", oh cause Evan always cared about the rules. Especially when sneaking out to get random stuff from the forest after midnight.
"You're talkative today.", he answered instead. His eyes were sparkling with amusement and something else Evan couldn't recognize. But it had to be something bad, the way Barty turned his back on him every chance available, like he wanted to show off the Evans on the back of the sweater. It made Evan's mouth taste bitter.
That's when Pandora entered. Technically, that was against the rules too, but Pandora didn't quite fit into those boxes either. Her eyes immediately fell on the unusual red in the room, first darkening at the sight of Barty in Lily's sweater and then narrowing her eyes at the writing at the back. Evan was observing her like a hawk, and that's why he noticed the breath of laughter that escaped her lips.
Regulus was also grinning about something, hiding it behind his book. What was even funny in this situation? Or maybe they were teasing Barty. Right... That's how groups worked, you tease the other when they find a partner.
"Well, babies, I'm going out again. See you at dinner. Rosie, get some sleep, you're not as sharp as usually", Barty said with a salute as he walked out again, trying to keep the back of the sweater as visible as possible.
Evan probably needed glasses because he didn't notice the small black apostrophe that Barty had added on Lily's surname with marker. Evan's. Blind idiot...
