like imagine theyre drunk or something—they have some fight. barty lets something slip about him killing james and now evan can’t live in his delusion that barty didnt do it. so theyre fighting, maybe they each have a gun. maybe they do one of those duels where they walk ten paces from each other(thinking of hamilton here, off topic) and, while they might not have meant to kill one another, it happens

OH what if they have like a murder suicide type thing? like i like to think evan killed barty here and once he’s seen what he’s done, he shoots the trigger on himself.

anyways!!! this turned out to be a lot longer than i meant—sorry if some things dont make sense. thats what happens when its 12am and im procrastinating writing my fics. thoughts? comments? things to be added?

TW: Suicide and Murder

This is 1000000x too good. Because it's so perfect. Evan is able to allow himself to indulge in Barty because he can't confidently say out loud that Barty is James's killer without having at least some shred of doubt. Barty never says it, they never talk about it. In the back of his mind, he KNOWS, but being with Barty feels so GOOD and he can't let go of him. It is much easier to believe that the man or woman who killed his dear James is someone else entirely.

When Barty lets it slip, says something that leaves it undeniably clear... something cracks in Evan that could never be fixed.

I don't know if you've seen any of the hunger games movies or read the books, but in one of the books (being vague so i don't spoil it lol), A character is running away with a lover. They let it slip that, "killing three people was enough". Except, the lover only knew about two. The lover realizes what the other has done involving a mutual friend they had who was killed, and it spirals. I imagine that Barty and Evan have something sort of similar.

- evan is a psychology student so he frequently uses remus as a subject for his studies, with or without remus' knowledge. he has conditioned remus to act 'proper' (kinda like sheldon tried with penny in tbbt?)

- evan having a stash of chocolates and cigarettes in his room for whenever remus comes over

- i heavily agree with you on the they are not big on sex thing so im adding it here

- remus keeps a private journal that evan secretly reads because he needs to be sure remus isn't cheating on him

- a part of evan will always belong to barty and he made sure to tell remus that before taking things further. remus told him he understands (cough sirius orion black cough)

- things were awkward at start. what do boyfriends even talk about? later they found comfort in the same silence

- smoking together was the third base for them.

- they both aren't the most healthy people out there so dates for them include takeout and smoking together or studying

- remus often gets too focused on his studies and evan has to force him to eat or rest. they have each others exam schedules on their phones.

- tall bfs!! remus is 6'2, evan is 6'1.

- remus wears brown converse, evan wears loafers.

- remus likes thrifting whereas evan exclusively wears luxury brands

- that thing with holding hands and putting it in the jacket? they own it.

- they crave touching. like not in a sexual sense, they just have to be touching each other in some way.

but its Mary getting the reputation of being "mean and unfriendly" after she punched the guy who called her slurs and assaulted her
