like i love to think of evan just getting out of his cult—or his deeply religious home at least—and he doesn’t understand anything really. he was deeply sheltered, he’s lost a lot for leaving, he doesn’t know how to please himself properly. literally all i can think of with this au is evan being some california boy so he becomes that at somepoint okay.
anyways, he meets barty. this older guy. he’s hot and has some sort of reputation. maybe a professor, if evan goes to university in this au. or maybe evan just met barty some other way(imagine something like grindr.) bartys totally like “i’m older, i’ll show you how to do things” and he’s just very play-boy type, i dont know.

eek i remember thinking a lot about this on the plane and after thinking more about it, i have my thoughts!!!
i think barty would think of evan’s cult as an advantage. he would think that it would be an easy way in and would use it as a way to get into evan’s mind. he’d learn about the sacrifice(either animal or human) and would encourage evan to participate into it more(i think if it was just animal sacrifice, barty would also try to get evan to go into human sacrifice). i think, really, he’d just use it to enable evan’s darker nature or something of the sorts. i also think that seeing the cult would help barty understand evan more as well. barty would also totally try sucking up to evan’s dad(who i imagine is also the leader of the cult) in hopes of maybe getting a way through to voldemort maybe.
theres some of my thoughts!! i didnt really know how to get my thoughts out right so this is kinda the best i could do—i feel like there was more i could say but like words arent working for me right now. anyways, i would LOVE to hear your thoughts on this as well!! once again, sorry for replying so late and i promise i will get to your other asks soon:P
