"Can I actually become a pilot?" β the answer is probably yes, even if you think you don't qualify.
A lot of people quietly give up on the idea of flying before they even check if they're eligible. Usually because of one of these myths:
"I didn't study science, so I can't." β Not true. Arts and Commerce students can complete Physics and Maths through DGCA-approved open education and still qualify.
"I wear glasses, so my vision disqualifies me." β Also not true. Corrected vision is accepted, as long as you clear the standard DGCA medical tests.
"I'm too old to start." β There's no upper age limit for pilot training in India. Licenses have minimum ages (16 for Student Pilot License, 18 for Commercial), not maximums.
The real requirements are simpler than people assume: 10+2 with Physics and Maths (or the equivalent), DGCA medical clearance, and comfort with English since aviation runs entirely on it.
If you've been sitting on the idea because you assumed you didn't qualify, it might be worth actually checking.
