Jyoti Amge (born December 16, 1993), a resident of Nagpur, India, is the world's smallest living woman according to the Limca Book of Records and Guinness Book of Records.

The man on the right is the world’s shortest man, Chandra Bahadur Dangi of Nepal.

The world's largest playable guitar is 43.5 feet long, 16 feet wide, and weighs in at 2,255 pounds. It was built by the Academy of Science & Technology in Woodlands, Texas in 2001.

Many think of the platypus as just a cute furry little animal. I mean, what's not to love? It's got the bill of a duck, and the back end of a beaver. They're mammals, but they lay eggs! They seem harmless enough..right?

Well, as it turns out, the platypus has a dark secret..it's venemous! That's right. The duck-billed platypus is one of the few venemous mammals. It has poisonous barbs on it's hind limbs that delivers a very nasty sting, which causes excruciating pain. In fact, it's the only known neurotoxin that directly targets pain receptors! It has been compared to hundreds of hornet stings and can leave someone incapacitated for weeks!

The venom production peaks during mating season, as the venom is used against other males to assert dominance.

James L. Avery, Sr. is an American actor best known as Philip Banks in the TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He's also had various movie roles and has guest starred on several sitcoms. 

What most people don't know however, is that he also provided the voice for Shredder in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles television series.

'Take something with a grain of salt' comes from the Latin addito salis grano. It can be found in Pliny’s Historia Naturalis, which was written in c. 77 A.D.. The full passage, from Book 23, section 149, is:

This battle scene was found in Mongolia's Gobi Desert in 1971. These two dinos were most likely killed simultaneously after a sand dune collapsed. These photos are of a cast replica.

Earlier this summer, a pregnant dusky shark was opened up by commercial fishermen in the Gulf of California. What they found inside was a rare albino shark fetus with just one eye in the middle of its head.

Researchers examining the shark claimed the eye's optical tissue was intact, yet the fetus would not have likely survived outside of the womb.
