River Islands new Spring/Summer 2013 collection
River Island is one of the high street's go-to brands for fashion-forward trends.
Since the hugely successful Rihanna for River Island collection hit shelves, the store has won over an even greater legion of fans.
The campaign perfectly mirrors the fresh summer style of the new season - think washed denims with soft jumpers and hoodies, tailored army print cropped trousers, lime green and statement sunglasses.
The collection embraces the Wild West with a fusion of buttery soft leathers, suedes and fringing. Heavy layering is key and we see plenty of fringed kimonos worn over sheer maxi dresses and topped off with embroidered grunge scarves.
Accessories come in the form of black fringed boots, heavily beaded bags and lashings of jewellery - enough boho style to give Vanessa Hudgens a run for her money.
The Denim Couture section of the range presents a fusion of textures and fabrics in a cool colour palette of blue and white.
Army Lux is a collection that aims to embrace the great outdoors with a modern lux approach. There are jumpsuits in urban Oriental patterns, khaki satin shorts and lots of bang-on-trend metallics. There is also the Space Mono range, a slick sportswear collection that aims to echo a laid back 90s street vibe.
I think with all the high street shops around in the UK its hard to bring out a different collection, but River Island have sort to bring out a new side to the high street, an edgy, wham inspired feel that doesn't scare. I can imagine such celebs as Jessie J, or Rita Ora rocking these pieces. I definitely will be picking up some of those sunglasses anyway!
