Thought I'd share the concept drawings I did to prepare for yesterday's comic.

To give credit where it's due: Asami's outfit is based on an unused concept from the Book 4 artbook. All I did here was add the Raava betrothal necklace.

Korra's hair is based on a sketch by Michelle Wong, included in the Ruins of the Empire Library Edition. I added the little streak because it made sense to me that Korra's hair would begin to gray a little early, given everything she's been through.

The rest of Korra's outfit is my attempt to evolve her look in the same way her design evolved throughout the show. A production note by Bryan in the Book 4 artbook mentioned he wanted to give her a subtle superhero look, so I tried to follow that same line of thinking with this design, while also playing more into the MMA fighter angle from her early concepts.
