The temporary vagueness (I say temporary because I’m sure that it’ll be addressed at some point) around Tartah disappearing with the Brims really intrigues me. This comic was born from the idea that they, as an organisation, the Brimhats have no clear hierarchy but rather operate as separate individuals with different goals. This comic leans more into a goofy side, not addressing the full implications of what Custas and Tartah’s life will be from this point on.

I imagine that Tartah would embrace healing magic with a fervour, while still being hesitant about its dangers and limitations.

I imagine that some Brimhats have no fixed residence (atelier?). Some of them naturally would, but I’m fond of the idea of Custas and Tartah as travelling witches. Something about Custas looking back to his travelling days with Dagda and comparing his past to his present.

Ininia would also be there, but I felt like there was no natural space for her in this comic – not without me adding at least other two or three pages, which I wasn’t very keen on doing.

I definitely think Tartah will carry a lot of unresolved feelings about what went down during the Silver Arc. On the one hand, he already recognised adult Pointed Hats as someone who had failed him. On the other, he didn’t join the Brimhats completely of his own volition, but rather because it was his only choice. Would he be marked as a traitor if he went back? I believe so, and he would also be endangering his grandfather. But seeing how abrupt his departure was, I would like to see some kind of development on that front.

I also have some things to say about their outfits, which ended up being rather simple, but there are a few insider tips on those. I will probably make a separate post about those, though.

One last thing, the earrings Custas wears are a gift from Dagda, who in turn received them from the old lady who taught him how to play music.
