i'm alive! recently i've been watching granada holmes for the first time (with the aid of these excellent meta posts) and as a lifelong SH fan i can't believe i waited this long. jeremy brett holmes is EVERYTHING to me, and the holmes/watson domesticity and closeness makes me inexpressibly happy in my heart <333

Hello anon, sorry for replying late! To be honest, it was pretty intimidating to draw them at first because I'd taken a break from drawing for a long time, and what helped me was going back to fundamentals -- geometric shapes, proportions, perspective, anatomy. Some resources I used were Proko's youtube videos on the Loomis method and gesture drawing, Scott Eaton's Anatomy for Artists, Michael Hampton's Analytical Figure Drawing book, and a whole lot of Pinterest/youtube tutorials. There's tons of great resources online for free, so try searching "portrait drawing exercises" and practice some of the methods out there! I think two of the biggest things I've learned are 1) ALWAYS use a reference and 2) train your eye to be able to evaluate what's off about a drawing. This involves a whole lot of looking at your reference and looking back at your drawing, and sometimes you come back to a drawing a week later and find it's wrong in some way you didn't notice before. Just take your time and practice the fundamentals a lot, it gets easier over time but it's still incredibly daunting for me on most days 😂 Hope that helps! Thank you for your question~
