“no forgiveness necessary. thank you,” he responded with a small nod of his head. caleb had been important to him, but it wasn’t who he was now. kanan jarrus had done a lot of good for the galaxy, too. “oh?” the honesty made his brow rise. “i can’t say i disagree, but i’m surprised you feel the same way.”

   Alton nodded listening to the answer, and he was being fed platitudes, general statements that would do nothing to help Alton or this story. “We are glad we can count on the Jedi Order, but at the event it seemed even the Jedi could do very little to stop them. Were they immune to the force, Master Plo Koon?” Alton raised an eyebrow, and then before the Jedi could answer, he asked an immediate follow up question, “Do you think those creatures have anything to do with the Emperor’s Rift, the same one that brought you back?” 

“As for your first question…I find it highly unlikely that they are completely immune to the force. Even those known beings that have some immunity to it are not completely immune. They were simply an unknown enemy. The force is part of all living things.”

the jedi knight offered a smile to master koon. “thank you. i uh, i actually go by kanan now.” he doesn’t make a big deal out of it – caleb wasn’t a dead name to him, but it was… a different life, something that he had left behind. even with the slowly restoring jedi order, that hadn’t changed. “we’ve been very lucky to have so much restored.”

Of course they would know Anakin Skywalker. Being on The Council when the order fell would almost guarantee that. It seemed that this jedi did not know if his father’s path to The Dark Side. But still, there was a reason that Luke and Leia did not tell people who their parents were. It was so much easier that way. “ I’m Master Skywalker’s nephew. I was raised on Tatooine. “ he explained, the lie coming so easily from his lips. It wasn’t the first time he had been asked. It wouldn’t be the last. “ Did you know him well ? “ he was always curious about his father’s past, before he had turned into Darth Vader. People always spoke about him positively. 

“I knew him fairly well. Both as a youngling and a man. He was a good man, a great Jedi.” Plo said with a nod “The Order unfortunately did wrong by him, I don’t know if he’s been returned to us, but I hope one day I have the chance to apologize to him.”

every time kanan realized that another member of the jedi that he had known as a child had returned, he felt a sense of relief. how could he not? it had been, and still was, an integral piece of who he was, even if his take on it was perhaps more liberal than what some would have approved of. “master koon,” he greeted with a slight smile, nodding his head in greeting. “it’s good to see that you’re back too.”

“Ah thank you. I am grateful to have been returned when the galaxy is in need of protectors.” They said, considering for a moment what they could actually say. “What happened on Hapan was a terrible tragedy, one that the Order is doing it’s most to address.” They said politely “The galaxy can rest assured that the Order will work to ensure their safety.”

Luke  raised  his  head  from  where  he  had  been  speaking  to  R2  as  the  Kel  Dor  reached  him.  The  jedi  nodded  his  head  in  greeting,  turning  towards  them  as  his  droid  went  through  the  crowd,  most  likely  looking  for  3P0  or  Chopper  to  anger.  He  had  been  told  by  many  people  how  he  looked  just  like  his  father,  but  he  was  unsure  if  the  force  sensitive  being  knew  Anakin  Skywalker.  “  I  am  Luke  Skywalker.  “  he  answered.  Most  people  that  came  back  knew  him  from  his  father’s  legacy.  Not  the  one  built  in  blood  thankfully.  Not  many  knew  that  it  was  Anakin  that  went  to  the  Dark  Side,  became  the  Sith  known  as  Vader.  “  Are  you  with  The  Jedi  ?  “  he  asked  curiously,  turning  to  examine  them  more  fully  now.  

“Skywalker? Are you family to young Anakin then?” They asked. Plo didn’t know what had happened to Anakin in the wake of the order’s fall but they wouldn’t have been surprised if the young man had gone on to have a family in the aftermath if he had survived.

The overwhelming grief coming from Wolffe nearly had Plo tripping over their feet though. And it had them hurrying their way over to him. “Wolffe…” they said quietly. They didn’t have to ask, they knew what was troubling him so much “I am here and I am alive. Please don’t grieve yourself over something that wasn’t your fault.”
