“………” He loved Satsuki; he really did. But how his husband could say something like that so bluntly without even batting an eye was still beyond him. He didn’t resist the pull of his arm around his waist, however, and tried not to look too flustered. His voice faltered a little when he spoke, but he quickly cleared his throat and acted as if he hadn’t noticed.  “That…sounds like a good idea.”

“Are you—?! Never mind. You probably are serious. In that case…if you want to, fine, as long as you promise not to bite too hard. I have to wonder what you’ll want to try next, though.”

“Yeah, I know we do. I’m so glad you’re still here.” For a moment, Syo didn’t do anything but keep his head right where it was and tighten his hold on the shadow. The love he felt for Satsuki was overwhelming, and after so long apart, it was incredibly surreal to be in his husband’s arms again. 

Slowly, he lifted his head up to give the taller male a broad, loving smile, though a hint of mischief glinted in his eyes. “Maybe you should pinch me again just so I know I’m not dreaming.”

   “Oh...?” A hum hinted in his tone as Satsuki returned Syo’s expression with one of his own. His emerald eyes reflected his own mischief as the grin on his lips both expressed his affection for the younger male as well as his further intentions once hearing Syo’s request.

Letting out a little yelp, Syo whirled around and very nearly told off the owner of the pinching fingers, but his anger completely evaporated the second he saw his husband and heard that familiar voice.

“Satsuki!~” Eyes alight with pure happiness, he threw his arms around the taller male and buried his face in the other blond’s shirt, pressing his body as close as was physically possible. “Of course I missed you! Dammit, I missed you so much.”

   “I missed ya too.” Even if he was capable of watching him from within Natsuki, not being there physically for the time being was most definitely painful for the shadow. He’d truly grown to love his small husband and to have him there in his arms right now was reward enough.

“Yay!” Throwing her arms around her papa’s waist, she gave him as good a hug as she could given the height difference. “Thank you, papa~!”

“Really? Yay!” Happy 6 year old is happy, as is obvious by her dancing around now. “Aika’s getting a puppy~!”

“It can be small when it’s still a baby puppy, but I want one that grows up to be a BIG puppy! Daddy says that I can’t keep the puppy I found because it’s a wolf, but he said I could have an actual puppy.”

“Paaaaaaapaaaaaaa~! Can I have a puppy? One bigger than me so I can ride on its back!”
