I honestly think Gen-Z and younger simply does not understand how recent widespread smartphone adoption is.

I am not that old, and I didn't have a smartphone until probably late high school. For most of my life, many if not most people were not walking around with a magic internet machine in their pocket that they pulled out and used constantly for everything.

#wow the results of this made me cringe #i'm so fucking glad i did not have access to a smartphone in my teenage years #it would have fucked me up #it was bad enough i had access to the internet from age 11 on #i'm pretty sure i was 23 #my first smartphone was a sidekick #bruh i miss that thing so much it was so customizable and clever. now we're all walking around w glass bricks in our pockets. boring #i had a blackberry for a couple years before i got an i4 #have had nothing but iphones since then #6 of them to be exact #4 / 5 / 6 / erica's 6 when she upgraded to an 8 bc i burned my battery out playing pokemon go / 10 / 14 #i still have my 10 and use it for photographing merchandise #if i could have easily / cheaply replaced it's battery i would have kept it forever #wow ok anyways
