Sad to hear of the passing of Carlos Pacheco. He's one of my favorite artists and his work in the mid to late 90s especially had a great impact on me.

I've been into a bunch of crime stuff lately
No, not actually committing crimes. I've been reading the Quarry books by Max Allan Collins about a hitman. I've also been reading The Fade Out, Incognito, and Criminal comics by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. Plus, I've been listening to the Undisclosed podcast about the real life case of Adnan Syed, the subject of the first season of the Serial podcast. So that's what I mean by being into a bunch of crime. It's actually got my mind buzzing with an idea for a noir style story set in my old hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico. I tried to see if anyone has done much in the way of crime fiction that's been set in Albuquerque, but all I could really find was Breaking Bad and it's spin off, Better Call Saul. I'm hoping that my 10 years spent living and working in Albuquerque can help fuel this idea I have and turn it into an actual story. I'm planning on using some of my own experiences in the story as well. We'll see if I can actually sit down and actually write the thing though. I'm my own worst enemy about actually getting things written down.
So, what's been happening?
Haven't been around here for quite a while. Kind of took an extended break away from much of social media. Not that it was anything that I had planned or anything like that. I guess the appeal of a lot of it had started to evaporate for me. To be fair, I'm still not sure how much I'll be around now either. Just kind of wanted to do a little update, I guess. I'm writing this from my brand new tablet. It's an RCA Maven Pro. It's an 11.6 inch tablet that comes with a detachable keyboard. It's basically an android powered network in a lot of ways. As someone who's had a tablet and a network in the past, it's kind of nice to have something that is a little of both. This tablet was pretty affordable compared to a lot of the other top of the line brands, but after using it for the last day, I can say it's a pretty decent machine. If you're looking for something like this, head to Walmart. It was only $147, so it's a good price for a decent tablet. Anyway, I changed jobs this last August. For the previous 6 years I worked as a paraprofessional, which is basically a teacher's assistant. I'd been working with special ed kids who have behavior disorders. In the beginning the job was interesting and sometimes fun, but the last 3 years weren't so much and this summer I decided it was time for a change. My wife had been telling me I should become a bus driver for the last couple of years and since I really didn't want to give up my summer breaks and all, I decided she was right. After going through the two week training and getting my CDL license, I got the job. I now work at the same school she teaches at and make more money dealing with students for less time than I was at my previous job. Other than work, things have been pretty much the same. Been trying to catch up on my never ending stream of comics I want to read and occasionally catching up on television shows that I'm always behind on. I started getting Loot Crates this year, as well as Marvel and Star Wars subscription boxes which help feed my geek side a lot. I hope anyone who's still following my page is having a good year and that you continue to do so. Say hi sometime, if you feel like it!
