I really don’t care for this mural. It’s painted on a water reservoir near our apartment, and it replaced a much better designed one in a similar palette. But I can forgive it sometimes when the setting sun catches it, and this puddle almost reconciled me to it.

Going bananas! The varieties that flourish in our mild climate are all, I’ve been told, inedible, but very decorative.

This terrace of century-old shops now includes homes, offices and food outlets. There are a couple of very nocturnal kitchens, and the odd light can always be seen, but rarely so many at once.

Evening walks in winter – the city is full of random lighting drama.

The way the glass distorted this image subtly made me want to grab brushes and thick, slick paint.
