The ice cream was certainly a bit pricier than the popsicle she was aiming for, but it helped cool her head. It also helped Joohyun act a lot nicer in front of the male, realizing how foolish she was with letting her temper get the best of her. The subtle reminder, one that she has yet again forgotten to do, embarrassed her. Why didn’t she say that along with the apology, she didn’t know. But the reminder sure did the trick in making her feel bashful. After a quick bite of ice cream to gulp down the shame, her head is then bowed slightly, another apologetic smile making its way across her lips. The bow was out of respect. Despite being older, he was still a sunbae, after all. “Eung…thank you…for this…” Awkwardness seeps in, Joohyun not really knowing what to do afterwards. 

he supposed mentioning wanting a ‘thanks’ from the elder was adding insult to injury, but then again, wanting the last popsicle wasn’t an excuse to act rather harshly. (though, he knew that his members do quite the similar thing, but that was a different story.) yoongi wasn’t expecting her to bow her head, but he used his free hand to wave off the formalities (metaphorically, of course). “you’re feeling better now, right?” he stated, end of the sentence trailing off into a question. try as he might, he was still a caring person, and he was concerned for her mood and wellbeing, even during this weird instance. old habits died hard, he supposed. “it’s a bit pricier, but at least it works with cooling off.”

“this weather is pretty ridiculous,” yoongi murmurs his assent at the other’s statement, picking at a loose thread of his thin sweater as he glared up at the sky. complaining about the weather, though, never solves anything, so he keeps himself quiet for the most part as he listens to the other. he gets an idea while he’s half-tuning out of the conversation. sitting up, yoongi tilts his head with a small smile. “you know what beats the warm weather? popsicles. c’mon, sunbae. convenience store popsicles, on me.”

and jimin had expected it, would’ve been more surprised if that weren’t the case, around this time. it’s been years, and he’s learned just how yoongi works—runs on straight coffee and nearly zero sleep when working on something, when he’s got something stuck in his head. comebacks. deadlines. many times over, he’d been the one to attempt to bring him back home, and depending on the severity of the situation, he’d succeed, if only by the skin of his teeth. it’s with those thoughts in mind that he proceeds, folds himself next to yoongi, chin in palm. “i did, that’s why i’m here, hyung.” there’s a moment of pause, just so he can shift, get more comfortable. “i should’ve asked what you were working on, right?” 

If she weren’t feeling so bummed at that moment, she would have felt terrible for speaking to him in such a harsh manner. However, all she could think about right at that moment was the frozen dessert probably awaiting her at one of the freezers. She wasn’t sure if she still had money for an ice cream tub, but she was willing to risk, running across the convenience store without a word of thanks at first. She sighs in relief, spotting at least five ice cream tubs left. Not caring whatever flavor she might have picked up, she goes back to pay for it. Once the cool temperature and the sweetness of it hit her taste buds, she hummed, feeling herself instantly refreshed. Just like how she usually was, her mood quickly changes upon acquiring what she wanted, she turns around to grin at the male ever so sheepishly. “Sorry about that…”

and honestly, he couldn’t help the amused but judgmental look that crossed his face when he saw her all but book it towards the freezer in the back. the girl spoke in a pretty harsh way ─ not that it offended him, but he found it uncommon (and therefore, interesting) to find crabby behavior besides from seeing himself. yoongi also didn’t know why in the hell he chose to stay and wait for the other to pay, but his manager hadn’t given him any sort of phone call. he was fine staying for now, he supposed. “you were desperate for a popsicle and i ‘stole it’ from you. it happens,” he replied with a cool mumble, taking another bite of the popsicle after. “a ‘thank you’ for telling you about the ice cream is certainly in line, though.”

he’s not being cocky, per se, but yoongi does recognize the power of good music and a multitude of fans. therefore, he sits confidently that their group is going to have a significant impact on the way bands are promoted. “possibly,” he murmurs, eyes closing to envision the stage again, to all the people screaming his name, to his parents watching his concert for the very first time. “it may be minute to everyone else, but it’ll be a big of enough dent for us. we take what we can for our name.”

the first time yoongi sees a paycheck with impressive figures signed to his own name, he’s a little in shock. of course, he knows how much he and his group have worked to earn this much. he sees the results of their fruit of labor daily: taehyung’s gucci outfits; seokjin’s figurines; his, namjoon’s, and hoseok’s own studios, the list goes on. (1) his net worth is steadily rising, climbing to ridiculous amounts of won that he’s dumbfounded.

(2) even with the rise of net worth and profit, however, yoongi keeps his life modest. (4) he buys a few studio upgrades, maybe even invests in his own personal coffee machine. if it’s not a life necessity, he’s seldom to purchase it. he’s always looking for cheap but good alternatives to expensive items, though (6) maybe in the future, he’ll save up to further expand his studio. his caution with finances helps him manage his group’s money, (7) which he doesn’t mind at all. they work as a unit, they can share as a unit, too. the only condition is that he has to keep them on a good budget, as he doesn’t want anyone overspending. with that being said, (5) before he lends money to anyone, he makes sure that they know to pay him back.

“um.” yoongi, at first, doesn’t even dignify to answer the other’s question. the answer’s pretty obvious, anyway ─ doesn’t matter if it’s a celebrity or a college student, (half) nudity is frowned down upon harshly unless it’s part of some sort of media skit. then again, he realizes that it doesn’t even affect him, so he’s back to eating his food in peace and giving the other a nonchalant shrug. “society never stopped people from doing it anyway.”

ideal type celebrity type: when the question of ‘ideal type’ is mentioned, yoongi is typically the one in his group to make a broader, more vague description of his ideal type. it’s because he’s quite the individual to deal with, and he thinks it would be difficult for someone to stay by his side through thick and thin. he often stresses the importance of being able to support each other and communicate with his ideal type whenever he’s asked. high-fidelity (hi-fi) attracts his attention, but nothing to spark a huge interest. also, gender and appearance don’t matter much to him; what matters to yoongi most is the connection. he hasn’t mentioned any artists that he’d consider to be his ideal type yet.

Joohyun was quite unfortunate today. So many bad things have been happening and today’s temperature did not help in calming her down any time soon. At least something cold will lessen my irritation… She’s surprised, however, once someone beats her to it. The first time, she wasn’t successful at holding back a remark. This time however, as she watches the male bite down onto the cool treat that she previously desired, she had to bite her tongue and clench her fist in order to stop herself from saying something rash. “Is there really none left?” She sighed, realizing that she her attempt to hide her temper this time around was futile.

yoongi, though unremorseful at being able to snag the last popsicle in the store, wasn’t going to be a complete asshole. the other was snappy at him ─ though he found no interest in figuring why she was in such an irritable mood, he chalked it up to either having a bad day or generally having that attitude. (he hoped it was the former.) “none of the popsicles, but check the freezer in the back,” he supplied, one hand in his pocket and the other gripping onto the plastic around the popsicle. “you know. where the ice cream tubs are, if that’s to your liking.”

“ah ─ i actually haven’t.” on their small rest time after coming back from the tour, yoongi’s just been sticking to his normal routine. going to the same places day in and day out, eating similar meals each time. it’s about time he breaks the unusual cycle. what better way to do it with weird-looking cake? “but it sounds interesting. can you share the address with me?”

maybe this is the deities’ sick, twisted way to invoke karma on him, but he really doesn’t have time for this. he mutters this much to the younger as he rubs his temple with two fingers. yoongi hasn’t even had his coffee yet today. he feels ready to murder, probably looks the part, too. “just tell me where it is,” he repeats, voice exhausted and annoyed as he reaches a hand up to tousle his hair while frowning a bit.

ah, shit. caught red handed. yoongi turns around with both hands up in the universal sign of surrender. in his hands is the reason of suspicion. he holds a small popsicle in his left hand, having been the last one who received a popsicle from the convenience store. in this heat, anyone would want the popsicle, and joohyun’s no exception. but he finds no bone in him to feel remorseful, pouting as he opens the package and takes a bite. “whoops.”

the elder can only chuckle at his question. it’s rarer for yoongi to actually be asleep than be awake at this time of night. after spending the whole day watching netflix writing blurbs of lyrics down, the anxiety for their next release finally hits him. he’s not one to show his anxieties, but it ebbs at him from the inside. but he doesn’t want jimin to grow concerned over his irrational panic, so he glances up with a wry smirk and a nonchalant shrug. “thought you woulda expected this,” he mumbles, gyeongsang dialect in his speech prevalent.

“sunbae,” yoongi interjects, looking about 95% done with the elder and holding the small carton of eggs in his hand. the younger isn’t sure why he’s asked him to help bake something (he’s an excellent cook, but baking? it’s still a little shaky for him) but even if he throws out a few expletives and resists, he ends up agreeing to it eventually. “i got the eggs already. let’s go look for the other ingredients before we spend all day here.

“hm,” yoongi hums, deep voice going into his usual murmur as he glances at the other. whenever there’s an opportunity to collaborate with another artist, he usually jumps for it. however, he has to consider that the both of them probably have busy schedules, especially him with his planned comeback. “it flatters me that you’d want to collaborate. but let’s figure out timing before anything else, yeah?”
