Almost. The word stabs right through her once, then twice, then thrice, and so on. It resonates within the space of her skull, bouncing off its walls and amplifying the simulated pain to her ego. A reminder of her failed attempt, to put it simply, or several ones to be just.

Her pout drags the rest of her features, creases showing on her forehead.❝It’s unfair.❞ It is indeed. How can she not grab the stuffed espurr out of the claw machine? How can she still fail at the last minute, watching it slip from the claws and back to its friends? Not like she wants to separate it from them, but surely it will like its new home too.

Can she even try another time? She checks her pocket: only has two coins left.

Yugyeom did as he was told, almost immediately, the corners of his lips pulling up into a smile. Truthfully, he didn’t know exactly what it was for, but being in this industry, it was almost an instinct to smile when you were being told to smile. It was the only face the public wanted to see, so it was the one that was practiced most often. His eyes darted around, awaiting the arrival of whatever or whoever he was smiling for, and got his answer when a group of what seemed to be higher ups in the building they were lounging in had walked past.

"B...borrow?” He repeated, so as to clarify the request, though even with clarification he would’ve given him the same look; furrowed brows and a mouth half open, ready to either laugh or question further. “How...Wh...But...” Yugyeom continued, eventually ending up laughing out of pure disbelief at such an absurd thing to request.

The senior’s face twisted into a look of amused disbelief at her commentary, a laugh leaving as if to solidify his expression into something she could experience had she not happened to look over. “Don’t you think that’s too extreme?” He said with the amusement in his voice still prominent, just as much as it was in his expression. “I mean...all you did was order our drinks, Tzu.”

Yugyeom looked up from his phone and to the one speaking, the usual instinctive smile that he wore when meeting the face of another person replaced with momentary confusion. The past 30 minutes were spent on his phone, and whenever he got lost in the world of youtube videos and instagram scrolling it was like he lost all memory of anything outside of it. So it took him a little longer than a few moments to remember he’d jokingly asked the latter to grab him a meal if he was headed out.

The younger’s face twisted into confusion, his eyes squinted and his mouth hung open in a way that would make a Western grandma say close your mouth, or you’ll catch flies! Yugyeom stayed like this for a few seconds, as if he was making sure that the latter was finished with ... well, with whatever it was he was doing.

Yugyeom shook his head with too much vigor than was necessary, though he couldn’t deny how invested he’d become on the screen of his phone and rationality outside of the drama plot seemed absurd. He’d only come to the music show recording in the first place to support JJ Project but had ended up wandering and looking for other idols he recognized. How his wandering resulted in his phone balancing on his knee, playing a drama that he’d grown far too attached to in the last several minutes with the other idol as his company, was beyond him. Not that he was complaining or wondering too much, anyway.
