actually the thing that really gets me is how many people believe "hitting children makes them better" but secretly. do you believe that bad things need to happen to children or they'll end up wrong somehow? do you believe that humans need to be disciplined or they'll never learn important life lessons? do you believe that "strife" or "torture" or whatever produces better art and that people who only have good things happen to them will thus only produce bad art? do you believe that maybe it's not good but children will never listen if there aren't "consequences"?
