We brought Willow home today. She's very afraid, understandably. She's eaten some food, drank some water, used her litter box and then escaped from the kennel because I didn't latch the door(whoops, she did not seem interested in leaving the safety of the pet carrier). We were able to catch her and I held her for a bit wrapped up in a towel. She's a sweetheart, just scared. So far Boba has been keeping a respectable distance. No hissing from him, but Willow has hissed at him. And the dog. And me and mom and dad. I'm hopeful that after she's had a few days to decompress we'll start seeing her personality come out.
If someone ever tells you they’ve “reached a good place to stop” in lace they either mean “the thread is running out and I don’t want to do a changeover” or “I’ve done something I shouldn’t and have decided to make it my future self’s problem”
I crocheted a pangolin 🥰

May we all know decadence such as this
Most recent progress pic of my glorious loon sweater. It’s a little old, it has sleeves now!
sorry I disappeared again y’all. I had plans I could not share with you cause the haters (me, trying to focus on one wip at a time) would sabotage me 😔
Working on the photos for the Little Cafe socks today! (Watch for the test knit call coming soon).
We adopted a kitten today! She can't come home till she's been spayed, which will hopefully happen either today or Thursday. She is a feral but she did eat a churu treat that I offered her during our meet and greet. We think once she's home and has a safe space to settle in she won't be too hard to socialize. Me and mom are always taking on challenges when it comes to adopting pets and we just couldn't resist that beautiful face. The shelter gave her the name Grumpy (very fitting) but we won't be keeping it.
We lost both of our older cats last year. Merino was expected, he'd been having health problems for a couple of years. Cashmere's death was very sudden and hit us pretty hard. Boba has managed the transition to being the only cat pretty well. He had a few months of depression after Cashmere's death before he perked back up. I do think he would like to have a friend again. He needs someone to play with, and help with the mice.
Cashmere, Boba and Merino. It's been a while since we've had a cat that isn't black and white.

I love how exactly these match. I love the stripes. I did not love knitting these. This yarn split like crazy. I used relatively sharp needles so I guess that could have contributed.... But also it could have been the yarn.
