stop i’m so caterpilled rn

i’m realizing that although i accounted for this being superwash wool so it will stretch, i didn’t account for it ENOUGH and should have used a needle for the neck ribbing that was 0.5mm smaller than the rest of the sweater’s needle when i only went 0.25mm smaller here. it definitely needs to come down a size to hold its shape better

i also need to go down a pattern size bc woooow when they tell you superwash stretches a lot they were not kidding at all. i really had thought i accounted for it enough but i just tried it on and I Did Not.

i messed up the directions of a few of my increases along the raglan ‘seams’ and i’m not super happy with some of the tension for the m1rs, but both my m1rps and m1lps look fine so i’d rather adapt the pattern and make every increase a p. this should also make the line of the raglan more defined which i think i’d like

the pattern has the two purled texture rows break the continuous line of the raglan increases and i’d prefer if the raglan ribbing was the overlaying pattern

i had to order 2 more skeins to make sure i’d have enough yardage and it’s a VERY different dye lot than the other two lots that i have, and i’d like to incorporate that as an ombré design element starting with the new very different lot (then i’ll very gently blend the two using an alternating/mirrored fibonacci sequence to switch between colors) (it’s explained in one of my knitting books)

In a large, flat roasting pan warm in the oven:

½ cup oil (Choose a nice oil if you have it, like walnut or coconut)

1 cup honey

1 Tbs vanilla

If you measure the oil first and swirl it, the honey doesn’t stick to the measuring cup so badly.

Meanwhile, mix together:

6 cups of oats

1 cup nuts

1 cup raw shelled sunflower seeds

½ cup sesame seeds

2 cups plain, unsweetened coconut chips (you can use shredded but they burn more easily and don’t add the same great texture)

Add the oats mixture to the pan. Roast at 300F for 25 minutes, stirring often. After you take it out of the oven stir the granola every 5 minutes or so as it cools. This keeps the still-sticky granola from hardening into a block while it cools. Store in a sealed container, and it stays good for longer in the fridge.
