This exist†trace fan project was inspired by a scene from the “World Maker” MV, where the band performs in the flames of a sun, present at the birth of a new galaxy.
Koize and myself decided that Jyou seemed like Lucifer, all proud in her suit and surrounded by flames, and then the idea came that we should create an artwork centred around a special kind of Hell, an Igu Underworld, ruled over by Lord Jyoucifer! From there, an avalanche of research lead to the following characterisations:
Jyou+Lucifer = Jyoucifer
miko+Lilith = mikith (with a devilbunny familiar cos miko loves rabbits)
Mally+Leviathan = Malathan (made her hair into demon horns ala The Prodigy!)
Naoto+Beelzebub = Naozebub
Omi+Samael = Omiel
Was there much rationale behind these choices? But of course! Lucifer/Beelzebub/Leviathan are 3 of the 5 ‘founders’ of canon Christian Hell, and Jyou/Naoto/Mally founded exist†trace! Lilith was the woman who left Paradise because she would not bow down to a man, and Samael was the archangel with whom she hooked up, one of heaven’s most righteous warriors.
