"Faerthingale turned 12 today!"
Twelve years since I relented and joined up because there was nowhere else discussing and posting Takarazuka like tumblr was! And nearly twelve years since I quite suddenly tumbled violently into love with exist†trace, and found tumblr the perfect place to celebrate that love.
When I first visited JP in 2015, I started using a more private blog for journalling Igu-stuff and interacting with the fandom-core, and eventually I shifted my entire tumblr presence over to there, and this account kind of dropped slowly into obscurity. Which, considering it bears the brand I use everywhere else online, is pretty negligent of me. So I'm going to try exhume this blog, starting with sharing my current art-scapades.
I'm still madly in love with Igu, and it tears at my sinew every single day that my finances are in no state to visit them again. And I'm still deeply invested in the world of CAoS (and my fic thereof), even if I've felt too creatively destitute to create anything for it since some months now (aside from commission work, which works different in the brain). The state of capital-f Fandom in 2025 is kind of bleak, community support just isn't what it was when I joined tumblr, you can pretty much assume all your hard work is going to go totally unremarked upon, or else blessed by single-digit stalwarts who know you personally. So it's still a mystery to me where exactly to find that spark to create for free, when I'm living commission-to-commission as it is. It used to be its own kind of remuneration, to be able to share that beautiful excitement for art or stories with other people, but between an increasingly silent populace and the rise of AI content that does not require feedback because it isn't made by real people...... yeah, 'tis indeed bleak.
That said, Answers for Mary is still a safe-space that we can always return to, and Seasons of Lilith is already a behemoth that is complete in my head, if not yet on a03. There's even selected chapters of audio drama up now, for those who like that sort of (extremely high effort) thing.
If you used to follow this blog and wondered where I went -- heya! DM me if you'd like to re-connect in real-time. Or just in the comments. Cos I'd love to see some nostalgic names. ^_^
