After I arrived, I was ushered into what I thought was the green room. But instead of being wired with a microphone or taken to a stage, I just sat there at a plain round table as my audience was brought to me: five super-wealthy guys — yes, all men — from the upper echelon of the hedge fund world. After a bit of small talk, I realized they had no interest in the information I had prepared about the future of technology. 

They had come with questions of their own.They started out innocuously enough. Ethereum or bitcoin? Is quantum computing a real thing? Slowly but surely, however, they edged into their real topics of concern.Which region will be less impacted by the coming climate crisis: New Zealand or Alaska? Is Google really building Ray Kurzweil a home for his brain, and will his consciousness live through the transition, or will it die and be reborn as a whole new one? Finally, the CEO of a brokerage house explained that he had nearly completed building his own underground bunker system and asked, “How do I maintain authority over my security force after the event?”

This single question occupied us for the rest of the hour. They knew armed guards would be required to protect their compounds from the angry mobs. But how would they pay the guards once money was worthless? What would stop the guards from choosing their own leader? The billionaires considered using special combination locks on the food supply that only they knew. Or making guards wear disciplinary collars of some kind in return for their survival. Or maybe building robots to serve as guards and workers — if that technology could be developed in time.

sorry guys but my cat is going to die soon if he doesn't get some help

hey i know its christmas eve but my dad's cat/my old cat has been really sick and we dont know what's wrong with him and my dad is really poor and low on income right now. so am i and he was trying to help me out of a situation where i wont be able to pay rent but he cant right now and now this

his cat suka is only 7 and he has been trying to treat the problem on his own because he cant afford the vet but i really dont want him to die because he isnt getting any better. he said the animal hospital which is the only thing open or around him that he knows of requires a deposit of 300 before they even try to treat him. he really needs help.

anything anyone can spare will go to saving my cats life. please please reblog. this is heartbreaking to have happening especially around christmas. i dont have a good family relationship but i really don't want my cat to die just because my dad cant afford it.

(Alright, so I haven’t actually seen full play-throughs of the current out routes yet, but I’m making this post anyway because the characters that are out currently thankfully don’t apply to the thing I’m worried about. Also if anyone could send me a link to a play-through? I’d be grateful.)

Alright so I really don’t have problems with the fact that this is basically a fan-service. It’s a great way to get to know these characters more in depth, what their life was like before the game, yadda, yadda. 

But, I’m so fucking worried about favoritism with the characters from the writers of the games. 

Each and every one of the characters we’re getting routes for deserves equal treatment. And by that I mean they should all get real in depth stories and not be spun off as jokes or bad characters. You may think this is ridiculous, but I want to see just as much real emotion and character from characters like Gamzee, Equius, and Eridan as I know we saw from the beta kids. And considering from what I’ve heard that even characters like Rose got left off a little short from what they deserved, I’m going to be absolutely devastated if people on the team decide to brush off characters that actually were three dimensional (albeit short lived) to just their… worst aspects. I want those characters fleshed out. 

If I’m finally getting around to watching it, and I see nothing of Gamzee’s character except that he’s a stoner and weird, or nothing of Jake’s character except for the quirky language and adventurous attitude, I’m going to be very fucking ashamed of Hussie and utterly disappointed in him for allowing that to happen. 

Even characters like Equius deserve a full and well written story that fleshes them out. And if that doesn’t happen then I’m going to feel absolutely terrible for defending Hussie and the writers every time someone tried to say that they didn’t care.
