I talked about the Wizard City death school kids a whole lot before because their unique stories were great foils to the wizard and had untold potential in all their stories and relationships w/ each other (in terms of post-malistaire treatment) but dworgyn is also one of the necromancers highly affected by that particular traumatic event that renders him alone and forgotten for some time
dworgyn breaks my heart because the man is already a ginormous introvert who claims he doesn't mind being forgotten underneath dust and rubble. while the death kids uptop are struggling under their own versions of neglect and ostracization (the headmaster targeting duncan to switch schools whilst willfully taking inaction against his deteriorating behavior and emotions, malorn being thrust into an authority position and isolating him from his peers, penny being straight up forgotten), dworgyn just... accepts it. dworgyn literally does not care that no one looked or asked for him. dworgyn was only remembered because a child found him on complete accident (which by the way, ends up being one of his two only friends) before his teaxher status is reinstated and malorn is relieved of the responsibility.
like oh my god. oh my god this elderly man was just nearly all by himself with only mortis go company and he just shrugs his decrepit little shoulders over it. the death school children were hidden in plain sight while dworgyn was just plain hidden and he has already reached a point of acceptance and nonchalance that the wizard themself has yet to reach even to this day in their arc. and the fact that dworgyn is STILL teaching in a destroyed ramshackle building instead of a warm working classroom with the rest of humanity is INSANE actually
