"Final Girl is your choice, then." New Kid handed Addy the character sheet for the Final Girl. Though since the sheet was single-sided, there was space on the back for Addy to innovate on the class (plus, New Kid made extra sheets, so Addy could keep this one). And perhaps once Addy was ready for another class sometime in the future, then she could combine elements from both classes.

Simple enough! You've got tools to work with. Kind of like Stan's character, Toolshed, just not themed entirely around tools.

"Mm...Sure! I'm not really good with making up names, though." She gnawed on the inside of her cheek in thought.

"Hm...What kind of costume would a final girl hero even have?"

"And if you do think of something, and then think it's not so great later, that's fine too. Renaming is always a choice." It sounded like she was speaking from experience.

In Donkey Kong Country 3, Bazaar the Bear talks about Link from the Legend of Zelda series visiting his shop and asking about the local castle. Alongside a reference to Rupees, the currency of that series, Bazaar mentions that Link muttered something about his "shells being the wrong shape". This is a very specific reference that not even all fans of the Zelda series may understand, and requires having played The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening in particular.

In that game, Link can collect Secret Seashells, which unlock the optional Koholint Sword (that game's equivalent to the Master Sword). The shells in that game are conch-shaped, while the one Bazaar sells in his shop is clam-shaped, so Link would not be able to use it.
