Did you know? Several rooms were cut from MediEvil's The Gallows Gauntlet level, which seemed to form a dungeon. The corpses found in these rooms were re-used in the final game's Inside The Asylum level.

Did you know? MediEvil's "The Lake" level was initially one of the game's last levels. It was conceptualised as being a part of an ancient land underneath Gallowmere that Zarok wanted to plunder. Dan would have had to activate crystals in the ancient land in order to cause it to implode, thus putting an end to Zarok's plans.

Did you know? The developers of MediEvil considered splitting The Enchanted Earth level into two at one point. In this second part, Dan would have been shrunken down by Witches after finding their eyeball, allowing him to enter a tree house in the forest.

Did you know? The Dragon's lair in MediEvil's Crystal Caves level had a very different look to begin with. For example, there was only one hole for the dragon to poke his head out of.

Did you know? Greg Off was one of the co-authors of the MediEvil 1 and 2 strategy guides. He also reviewed both games and gave them high scores.

Today marks the 26th anniversary of MediEvil II's release in North America. Although this version came out later, it is more or less the same as the PAL region version safe for bug fixes, the game speed, and logo.

Did you know? The tombs inside Isibod Brunel's crypt in MediEvil 2's Whitechapel have textures that come from real tombs.

Did you know? Platinum copies of MediEvil, released in late 1999, came with a double-sided poster featuring a first look at MediEvil 2.

A pillory can be found outside the Gallows Town library in the original MediEvil. Pillories were devices that secured a person's head and hands to a post. They are often confused with stocks, which secured the feet.

Who remembers this PS3 gem? Although not a true MediEvil title, we at Gallowpedia feel it is a MediEvil game in spirit. As such, we are happy to announce that we will be covering the game on the wiki as well!
