Monthly goals for July:

It's my birthday month so I'm gonna be nice to myself and keep it super simple

What I'd really like to focus on this month is experimenting with what kind of reward systems work for me and how I can best form healthy habits without just getting frustrated with myself

And here's two fun goals:

Actually finish and post my Animorphs fanfic for real this time! It's so so close to being done!

Eat more fruit! It's summer, the grocery store is full of fruit, I have access to at least one backyard garden with a variety of fruits! Eat some!

I'm gonna be traveling this month so we'll keep it simple:

Two Spanish lessons per week

Follow my PT's schedule for exercising (do stretches AND resistance training!!!)

Finish editing my Animorphs fanfic

Ok, another mixed bag of a month. Technically I did the bare minimum to meet my Spanish and exercise goals but I often procrastinated and just barely scraped by. I'm starting to get a little frustrated with myself because I know I feel better after I exercise and I know I feel accomplished when I learn more Spanish

So why do I have to drag myself kicking and screaming into every single lesson/ exercise?!

Sigh.

It gets easier. But you have to do it every day. That's the hard part. But it does get easier 😬

Anyways I also did not finish editing my Animorphs fanfic but I'm not as upset about it because I spent a lot of time writing a completely different fanfic (which I also haven't finished) and I'm having a good time, which is why I write fanfic. So it's fine 😅

Been reading howls moving castle lately and i do love how idgaf maxxing sophie is about. Everything. Learns her sisters swapped places bc one wanted to learn magic while the other wanted a family😐👍 gets turned into an old lady by the wicked witch of the waste😐👍 meets a fire demon and makes a contract w him before taking a nap on a cozy chair😐👍 learns shes a witch ans has been speaking magic into every hat she ever made😐👍 like i strive to give that little of a fuck. Which is contrasted to howl going on a neurotic spiral every two pages

Spoilers for Platform Decay

One of my favorite tropes is "I'm not stuck in here with you, you're stuck in here with me" which often goes hand in hand with another favorite trope "horror movie scene from the pov of the horror"

So unsurprisingly one of my favorite scenes in PD is when Murderbot intimidates the shit out of the wannabe space pirates, locking them in their own ship and playing evidence of their crimes on their own TV

But my absolute favorite part is that it works too well and they all instantly surrender, leaving Murderbot standing there like 'um actually I was kinda planning on killing you guys but it feels weird now that you're like crying and shit'

So it just steals their ship instead
