I'm in one of those downward spirals where everyone writes fics better than me, so why write at all?
Totally feel this friend.
It can be discouraging.
But keep writing.
Write because it brings you joy and gives you freedom to be creative.
Write because no one knows what your story is until you finish it.
Write because no one can tell the same story you do in the same way that is purely Chaos.
There can be a thousand stories about how character A made a sandwich for character B and no two people are going to write it the same.
You may be getting sick of the story in your head/that you're writing because you are working with it so much and you think that it's been told a thousand times.
That could be because you're the one writing it and seeing it and knowing what's going on with it constantly that's making you get sick of it.
The rest of us will devour it as the brand new content itll be when you're done.
I could read the same scenarios the same tropes the same characters repeatedly for a hundred years, and none of it will get old.
If you need to take a break, do so.
But your writing, just like you, is unique and wonderful.
