Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles x Naruto #1 - Abel is going to say I don't even pronounce "Naruto" correctly. George will point out that I hated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles so much as a kid (C'mon! I was 14! It sounded like the STUPIDEST concept! Mutants? Sure, ok, I can get that. But turtles?!? Where were the capes? Where was the kryptonite/whatever weakness?) that I came up with my own ridiculous team, the Bolivian Ice Cow Maidens. But let me say this: As a store owner who has invested heavily in Manga, I can see that Manga fans LOVE their books/characters AT LEAST as much as we love our comics. And with that love comes a certain excitement when something new happens. When DC and Marvel teamed up in the mid-nineties to produce a JLA v Avengers series, even I, a lapsed comic geek, bought them (Spider-Man is a dude named Ben Reilly?!? Green Lantern is an artist named Kyle Raynor?!?) and LOVED them. And I recognized it was something new and fresh and innovative. THIS is that. And, ya know what? I'll read it. Honorable Mentions: Miles Morales, Spider-Man #26 (T'Challa's New Suit!), Rocketfellers (Read a retailer advance copy of this a month or so ago and LOVED it) and Batman & Robin: Year One #2 (#1 was a lotta fun!)
