it’s you and me || gabriel + dorian
Dying alone with no one but his cat and his probable-murderers had been absolutely fucking horrible. There was so much in his life he’d left unsaid, that he hadn’t done. For so long Gabriel had suffered and taken that out on others. He’d been flighty, unreliable, had lashed out so much... There was no question in his mind that he didn’t deserve the love and forgiveness that he’d been met with by so many.Â
As he’d been on the floor, life draining, he thought of the fact he’d abandoned his two eldest children. Couldn’t cope with the possibility of screwing them up so he’d left. Then, when he’d finally decided to be a father when his second wife had gotten pregnant.. He just, didn’t know how. So he spoiled Gretchen. Used gifts and money as affection because honestly, what other way was there? He was beyond emotionally stunted. Hadn’t even known how to show his son that he was over the moon about his grandson. Everything was.. Hard. Not just with his family, but with Dorian.
He’d been falling for the man at an alarming rate but rarely showed any true emotion or vulnerability to him. He’d died without letting Dorian know that he wanted a real shot with him. That he wanted to have something that he wouldn’t run from.
Sitting on the edge of the sidewalk, Gabriel stared down at his hands. Everything was so loud, so intense. He wasn’t entirely sure how he’d even managed to stumble out of the woods and collapse here. He didn’t want to move. He was exhausted, yet full of energy. He just couldn’t bring himself to get up and walk home. Hearing the exhaust of a truck, he looked up with bleary eyes and tried to wave it down. Sure, it was dangerous, but it was probably less than the things he’d done in the past. Maybe they’d give him a ride.
