We’ve come to take you on a date.|| Sarah

Her heart raced knowing that Gabe wasn’t playing an angle. There wasn’t anything he could say or do that would make her not trust him. Her heart was open and willing to allow him inside the tough walls. “I love you and I am willing to let you romantize the married life to me,” she muttered against Aria’s cheek. “She was an idiot for not wanting this. This is all I ever wanted. I do love her and I think I loved her the moment I laid eyes on her.” 

“I wanted that with, Aria’s mom, but she was always busy or I had work or Aria needed something. I see now that it was her way of avoiding me. She had gotten what she wanted. A binding contract for 18 years and free access to my money with out having to deal with me,” Gabe said slightly bitter. “But I won’t let her ruin marriage for me. I know it can be good, I just have to look at Isabelle and Hector to know that.” Gabe said stroking Sarah’s back. “She loves you too, we both do, and we want you as part of our family, Sarah. Always.”

“Why do you love me? That’s what I want to know because I am not the easiest person to love and I haven’t made it easy. Why do you want me when you can have anyone you want. Someone who could give you a son. I can’t do that. I won’t be able to give you a son.” Sarah pressed closer, knowing she couldn’t fight the tight feeling in her chest. She felt the tugging at her jeans, her hands already dropping from him to pick up the little ray of sun. “I love her too–I won’t replace her mother but I wouldn’t mind trying out the job.” 

“Becuase your strong and amazing. You have such a big heart that you have to build walls around it to protect it. I don’t want anyone else, you’re the only person I see, Dark Eyes. The person I want to spend the rest of my life making happy. I don’t care if I never have another kid, and besides, if it means that much to you there are avenues we can look into. They've now had several successful births from women who have had transplant uterus and even from synthetic ones.  Whatever we decide to do, I'm here because I love you, I want you, I choose you," he said kissing her. he wrapped both the loves of his life in his arms. "You're right you won't replace her mother. Her mother never wanted her, she was a means to an end to get my money. You will be her mom. You love her, you want what's best for her, as far as I'm concerned, you already have the job," he said kissing her cheek.

“I was shot once,” she said gently. “I couldn’t let whatever it was that clouded my judgment in that moment go and it cost me this.” Sarah gripped tighter to him, needing his strength. “It’s why I don’t commit because I can’t give what they want or need. I can’t be a mother and I can hardly be a partner let alone a wife. Playing house is nice but it’s just play. I wanted all of that before but things changed. I made peace with it.” 

He held her tight to him, “I don’t care. If it’s only me, you, and Aria for the rest of our lives then fine. If you want to adopt a hundred babies we can, I don’t care, as long as I have you. That’s all that will ever matter to me.” He then kissed he and whispered, “and I’d hate to be the one to break it to you, I think you’re already a mom,” he said looking at Aria where she hung tight to Sarah’s pants leg watching them. “She loves and adores you. She looks for you when she’s scared and wants cuddles.”

The kink formed along her brow once he’d embraced her again. Her body went limp against his, feeling the tension mount between her shoulders. “It’s not that I don’t want kids–I can’t have kids.” Sarah laid her head on his shoulder, “That was my consequence of being a cop.”

“Sarah, cops have kids all the time, even female dectetives. It’s not, wait, you can’t have kids not because of the job but because soemthing happen can you? You were hurt someway down there, weren’t you,” he asked the pain for her obvious in his voice.

Sarah’s blood ran cold, her hands pressed to the center of his chest. With a light push, she allowed for some distance between them. “Yeah–” she sighed. “You might as well go limp now,” her feet pivoted away from him to collect the jagged pieces of her heart and cram them back together. 

“Hey, hey, hey, whoa, I wasn’t saying now, Sarah,” he said tugging her back into his arms. “What was that, you know I was teasing. “ he siad looking confussed and slightly hurt. “If you never want to have kids, that’s okay too, I told you, this is at your pace,” Gabe said firmly wrapping his arms around her waist.

Sarah stared up at hime trying her best to hide her emotions, she knew that once he knew about her. He would leave. He had Aria but he seemed like a man who wanted an expansive family. “Chalk it up to my biological clock ticking and sisterly envy?” 

“Oh really, biological clock,” he teased with a leacherous grin. “I can help with that clock. We probably need lots of practice.” he whispered kissing her neck before moving to her ear, “The idea of you pregnant with my child makes me hard to just thinking about it.”

“Well slaveboy you shouldn’t be proud of how quick you are,” she scolded him playfully. She enjoyed their midday quickies. It reminded her that she wasn’t too old to have some fun. “I’m supporting her–,” she shrugged off the sharp dull pain in her chest. 

Gabe chuckled but watched the dark cloud cross her face. He tucked her hair behind her ear, “What’s wrong, Dark Eyes? I feel like I’m missing a big piece of this puzzle,” he asked kissing her forehead. He knew Sarah wouldn’t tell him if she wasn’t ready, but it wouldn’t stop him from asking.

“That’s a tricky one, even tricker for a man with slow hands.” Sarah poked at him, knowing more about how skilled it was with those hands. They were strong and guiding. “My sister is pregnant–she may not want to keep it but I think she’ll love Ari.”

“I can be very quick as I’ve proved before, mistress,” Gabe teased remembering several times they had a quickly in a closet. El’s pregnant?! how are you handling it," Gabe said with  a concerned look.

“Even the damn square one, mistress,” Gabe said with a wicked glint in his eyes. He could feel her body respond to him. His heart tripled in speed as she refered to Aria as theirs. “If she doesnt want to watcch her, her grandparents will.

Fixing things || Sarah

Sarah pulled away from him and pushed his door closed with her foot. Before long, she wrapped herself up in his body. “It scares me in a good way,” she muttered against his neck. “I don’t know how to be brave in with you, in this I know with you, I can be.” 

“You are the bravest woman in the world, Sarah. There’s not that you cannot do. I love you and I will be by your side the entire time. Reach your hand out and I’ll be there to hold it. I swear.”
